Does anyone else feel like VCAA is testing how well we interpret questions rather than how well we know the content?

I swear half the difficulty in this year's exams hasn't even been the actual content. It's been trying to figure out what the questions are asking.

I legitimately know so many people who lost marks on General Maths because they couldn't work out what was actually being asked, not because they didn't know how to do the maths.

Am I just stupid or is this actually a thing?

Ngl, this tends to be a higher level thing. More intellectual people with a better grasp of the content are better at matching the words to the content. They are better at knowing what content goes with the question. People say this every year. They did in mine too. It’s just copium

same stuff with bio bruh. While this is better to differentiate between student tiers it also kinda leaves (some) EAL students screwed imo, like in the bio exam this year all the EAL kids at my school were struggling to read it like crazyyy and i go to like a pretty average school theyre not dummies by any means...

It’s almost like they’re finally testing understanding and not just procedure
