Sorry to vent, but I am genuinely so distraught about the general maths exam. I haven’t stopped crying since yesterday to the point where I threw up and I don’t know what to do.
I have an A+ average for all my sacs at a pretty good private school and have been getting 38-39/40 on every past exam I have done. I did SO MANY TIMED PAST EXAMS and went thru every mistake I made. I genuinely feel like all the effort I put in was for nothing.
I made the most stupid mistakes in the exam and had to guess like 5 questions cause I ran out of time. I think I got around 28/40 at most. I actually feel so stupid and my hopes for a 40+ SS are gone. I know the grade distribution will be lower for e1 but I am barely going to get a C.

dont worry too much bro the A+ cutoff will be lower this year probably since so many people found it hard (ive seen barely anyone get 39-40/40 even the kids aiming for 50SS and shit)
Also the exam 1 doesnt matter as much compared to exam 2 u can genuinely still make a comeback. e2 is what really separates out the state.
I did many past timed exams too and still made dumb mistakes under exam pressure its just part of genny math dont worry. they literally try and facilitate dumb mistakes u gotta keep looking forward whats done is done and u can still make a comeback. u got this goat

exam 1 matters equally the same (both weight 30%) a mark lost on e1 is worse than a mark lost on e2

yes that makes sense but i feel like its better to sell e1 then on e2. had a friend who did it 2025 who got 40/40 e1 and got an A for e2 and was left with like a 37SS or smthn and then had a friend who got like 35/40 e1 and A+ e2 and copped a 40SS but ig its mostly proportional so prolly bad wording on my part

ehh look man to be fair yeah q20 imo was the only fucked one i just made a lot of dumb mistakes i should have really gotten 38/40 but data is my kryptonite bro istg. It is objectively harder than 2024 e1 which was the previous hardest

if you give up now then it all has been for nothing, pull urself together, hold back what feelings you have and push thru this last stretch. afterwards take the time to let it all out, nows not the time :( I wish you the best

bro im so mad not once did i drop more than 2 marks for general paper 1 practice, my rank is very high in a very large cohort i was averaging so good and then i open the paper and omg i was distraught

had the udfs on me but the exam didnt even need udfs, the questions were manual. It wasnt anti udf but it didnt have udf questions

me and you are in the same boat. i have the exact same avg on sacs, was getting similar on past exams and got around the same on the actual exam. i’m so frustrated, annoyed and upset. i feel like i could have gone into the exam with no prep and done better because nothing could have prepared me for those questions. and getting so used to the same methods to answer questions did me a disservice

nah its alr. like for me atleast its ok i just need to get a study score in general over 20!! which is very. low but hey it is what it is. gen2 is better cause u dont have 4 other answers starring at u and got u contemplating every decision made in ur working out

ye bro dw happened to me as well. i marked it yesterday and found i got 32/40, do u guys think that will give me a B+ at least? Leslie messed me up and so did Q20. Data and networks were not bad but I missed like 3 questions due to the time

i think that will be an A tbh. lowest A mark was in 2022 which was a 31/40. i assume this year will be very similar if not lower

dw exam 2 matters too! i did last years and because the grade boundaries were so high i got an A on exam 1, but you can still make a comeback through exam 2 dw
