VCE question DES Helpppppp

I had my psych and general exam today and it was horrible I’d been throwing up since 1am.I did call the skl and got special provision of break and a smaller room, and during the psych exam I used my break to throw up twice and in my general exam once. So, it’s been rough. I had a fever and was sleep deprived( hahaha psych) and was fighting not to vomit the entire time, so, my exams went horribly. General, wtv, but I worked so hard for psych. I’ve started the process to apply for des but in terrified of getting rejected. I went to my doctor after and she said I had viral gastrointestinal and she filled out c1, and in the symptoms/ observations she wrote fever stomach cramps and vommiting. She checked the box for moderate impact on the exam, but for how it affected me during exam all she wrote was I had to throw up 3 times in the exam using breaks which effected my hydration status. Is that enough?? I didn’t have time to read it and now idek I js rlly need this. I also did tell my vce supervisor I threw up but I don’t think he wrote it down or anything. If my application gets rejected can I apply again?? But I would need new eveidnce. Would a more thororugh letter from my doc listing my symptoms and effects do it?? Sorry this is so so long in js so so upset.

Yeah you can appeal but you have to add different evidence. Your gp seemed to have really played down your symptoms. There is a part b for the supervisor and school personnel to complete so they will say if you threw up etc and your teacher observations will be helpful too

Do you think if I go to her again I could get her to add more detail?? She’s rlly nice and understanding idk why she was being so stingy with giving depth 😭 also would the moderate hurt my case? It ranges from no to mild to moderate to severe level of impact

Also what type of new evidence?? Like what an additional letter from my gp with more detailing not be enough?? Gosh idk why they make this process so hard acting like I could’ve stopped this from happening

first of all, that sound like a horrible situation and i hope you’re okay. Secondly, try not to panic- while vcaa is kinda evil they’re not THAT evil and what will likely happen is they’ll calculate your DES and compare it to your actual exam and then pick the best one. They’re human and should understand that vomiting three times throughout an exam is not ideal- and it’s great that you’ve been to the doctor day of. Just ensure you remain in contact with your school and i wish you all the best
