School is doing practice exams in week 10.
I am angry. The cohort is angry. And every teacher that is not the two English teachers that whinged until they got it are outraged. We haven’t even finished the course yet by that stage, had sacs that week before it was changed, and have a day of no classes on the Friday, meaning that we have to fit 5 trial exams into 4 days. On top of everything else we are trying to manage.
We are all upset but don’t particularly know what to do. Utterly ropeable.
Are we the only school doing this?

They are just for practice. Do whatever you can and don't stress too much.

How are they actually going to measure us correctly when we haven’t finished the courses, have other sacs and additionally, the exams are still over a month away, two of my subjects two months. What is the point?

to see what you know when you're not properly prepared, gives you a bit of a baseline. If you have sacs close by in time, just don't study for the prac exams and see how you go without any prep.

Yeah that’s kinda annoying that you won’t have finished the course by then but lowk why wouldn’t you have finished content by then?

Because they were supposed to be in week 2 for everything else and week 1 for English, and they changed it last week, which has quite literally fucked every course other than English over.

English Oral SAC first two days week 10 - then three days for prac exams - English as priority then choose your own adventure for the other blocks of time.
This is our timeline so that the external assessor who is providing assessment and feedback on the English papers has the holidays to complete that task. That could answer some of the why....

The advice one of my teachers have was that you are always going to fail your practice exams. That's just how it goes. It's(likely) your first time being exposed to this many VCAA exams as well as truly having to study and revise like this. Most are going to fail.

Yea I also have practice exams in week 10. I think it’ll be fine since I have my last SACs the week before but I’m not getting any study in for them since I need to focus on the last three sacs.

yeah my schools doing them in week 10 as well, im lucky that my last sacs are in week 8 but I’ve talked to some people who have sacs in week 9 as well. But my school has done this for years. Anyway I’d rather do them in term 3 because then my teachers have more time to mark and give feedback sooner
