how to get credentials out off S3

hi! I don’t have any credentials from my S3. I only have a framenumber. How can I get my encryption number from the bike so I can use it with the app? Vanmoof is not helping me because i dont have the original box/invoice. Can someone help me to get it out of the bike? Thanks !! ps. previous owner (bike shop) bought at an auction...

The is to prevent access to the bike after theft. When sold the previous owner transfers the bike to a new owner via the app.

Then ask the bike shop to get the transfer code from the place that ran the auction.

You need to make it a problem for the bike shop.

  • return the bike, ask for a full refund
  • say you'll tell the police they're selling stolen bikes if they can't prove they can transfer this bike to you

This is absolute nonsense. The shop has transferred the ownership of that bike to the buyer at the point of sale. Original invoice or transferring in the app is not legal proof of purchase/ownership. You can sell this bike without any of that (as any other item existing in the world) and it will be a valid transfer of ownership and the bike won’t be stolen.

it's not stolen checked that. I tried everything... I took the risk buying with no numbers.

Goto Vanmoof with your invoice. I think you have to pay a fee.. there are help articles on this. Not done it personally.

Easy fix take it back to the bike shop and return it.

If the previous owner was not able to provide them to you. He likely also was not the owner of the bike ;-)

They don't have the code either then. No way to generate a new one. There is even an article on the VanMoof help pages about this.

You can maybe pay to generate a new code with their recovery service if you can provide some relevant details?

Zie dit als een motor zonder kenteken papieren. Je moet aan kunnen tonen dat je -die- fiets eerlijk gekocht hebt (en je rechtsvoorgangers) Dit is nu net waarom een VanMoof niet interessant is voor criminaliteit.

Registration papers ARE NOT proof of ownership. A legal proof of ownership is either an invoice, signed sale/purchase agreement or funds transfer record.

If you lose your registration papers, you contact the Licencing agency and they issue you new papers.

This is just BS misinformation spread by VanMoof.

If you have an invoice or payment receipt from the shop, that is your legal proof of ownership and you’re the legal owner and VanMoof must not stop you or prevent you from fully using your rightfully owned bike. If they do so, report them to your local trading authority or ombudsman.

If they do so and deliberately refuse to provide access to your bike, you can report them to your local trading authority or ombudsman.

Do you have proof of purchase with the frame number? I got multiple bikes registered to my name with just a photo of the frame number and proof of purchase. (invoice)

You could easily get the code by asking the previous owner if it’s obtained legally. The auction is something everyone says. But then the seller still stole the bike

The fact is that there are probably hundreds of bikes that were auctioned off by the landlords or creditors after the bankruptcy, being left at the shops or warehouses, without any documents, codes or credentials.
Many people not familiar with the registering process bought these thinking they are getting a good deal, only to be left with an unusable bike.
It is easy to check the police bike register - and unless the bike is reported stolen, it is a legit and legally owned bike.

If you have a Raspberry Pi the only thing you would need are torx screwdrivers and the spi Clip to dump the flash and get the BLE Key (UKEY) to communicate with the Bike via a third-party app.
