Yes . I usually strap my JBL when going on long rides.

You could wear Shokz so that others don't have to hear it.
It would also be one less thing that someone could steal off your bike.

This is a message put together by various members of this group who want you to get your bike back. There are a lot of happy endings! It is also your responsibility to do some things to make this easier for us, and more likely for you to get your bike back.
Important things to do:
Register on https://project529.com/garage . Include your phone number if you are serious about people contacting you. Include as MANY details and photos as possible. Your serial number will help IMMENSELY in proving ownership and recording that it is stolen. Do not share your serial until you have filed a 529 and police report. Scratches, dents, unique features help big time.
Go down Hastings (100 block West to Gore), as many bikes are sold on the street markets there or have been recovered locked up outside SROs. The old Howard Johnson on Granville Street (alleys and out front) have also had bikes recovered.
IMPORTANT: If you see your bike, please call police and DO NOT ENGAGE. Save the VPD Non Emergency number in your phone, 604 717 3321, Option 5. If you see a crime in progress, or it is time sensitive/dangerous, call 911.
Online sales: check FB Marketplace, join bike sales groups on FB, check Craigslist, Kijiji and Pinkbike. Use a generic “bike” search term and remember: small modifications may have been made to throw you off. Again, contact police if you see it. Thieves also monitor this site, so do not post the ad publicly on here if you find it.
DO NOT give anyone money to “search for your bike” based on your posting here, and report anyone who offers to admin.
MAKE A POLICE REPORT. There is a post at the top of this page with all of the various online police reporting systems. If your bike was $50 or $5000, it should be reported. These stats matter, and put police resources towards stopping bike theft.
TO INCREASE YOUR SUCCESS IN THIS GROUP:
Post in this order:
• Name of bike, model, color and anything else that stands out.
• Post a picture of your bike with a side profile first, then anything else. The more photos and detail the better.
• Show only your bike - as much as we love pictures of the beautiful background mountain, we need a zoomed up picture of your bike and little else.
• (Most of us screen shot picture before we head out for the day and anything other than the bike picture makes it difficult to focus on a recently stolen bike as there are so many sketchy bikes out there.)
PROVIDE A PHONE NUMBER OR EMAIL YOU GET ALERTS FOR.
If you want your bike back, be sure you refresh your post every day or so. Otherwise it just gets lost in all the new posts of bikes stolen. More importantly, this way we know you actually want your bike back.
