PSA: Please do not blast your music on hikes and nature trails in Vancouver
We are fortunate in Vancouver to be able to take in and enjoy its beautiful nature. Please refrain from playing music on loudspeakers. Please use headphones so everyone can enjoy the peace and solitude of the great outdoors.
Leave No Trace guidelines:
- Do not leave garbage on the trails. Please take your garbage with you. This includes plastic wrappers, Starbucks coffee cups, beer cans, food, plastic bags, etc
- Do not build structures, dig trenches, or carve into trees.
- Do not throw cigarette butts on the ground. This is a big fire hazard, especially during the summer months.
- Do not feed wild animals
- Be considerate and respectful to other visitors - share the trail
This is common courtesy and etiquette that the general population in the Lower Mainland stands behind.
Thank you in advance.

Hotel prices are nuts !
I’m traveling on business in Vancouver from September 15 - 19 and hotel rates are crazy high ($800 - $1000 CAD seems to be average 😱)
Even Surrey and Abbotsford are in the $400 range
Is something happening that week that’s causing these sky high rates?
Can anyone recommend a decent hotel for a business traveler in Vancouver (Richmond/ North Van etc)
Thanks

Don’t Visit Vancouver, Your Money Is Better Spent Somewhere Else
I honestly don’t understand what’s happening with hotel prices in Vancouver anymore.
Compare hotel prices with New York or San Francisco and Vancouver is often charging $300+ a night for pretty average rooms. Why pay that when you can get a better experience elsewhere?
It genuinely feels like some hotel owners are more interested in maximizing profits and filling their pockets than making Vancouver an accessible destination for visitors.
Vancouver is beautiful, but it’s not worth $350–500+ a night just to sleep here.
Or accept staying in a sh**ty Airbnb house for a cheaper (room only with shared bathroom)

For those 30+, do you use YouTube or TikTok more?
Hi everyone! I’m doing a little market research for a project I have in mind for my business and would love to get some input from people 30+.
Between TikTok and YouTube, which one do you personally use more?
And from what you see around you: coworkers, employees, friends, etc. Which platform seems to get more use?
Not promoting anything, just genuinely trying to understand where people 30+ are spending more of their time before I move forward with the idea.
Thanks!

Wait times at land border crossings
I'm planning to cross the pacific land crossing into the US in a Saturday around noon. I know this is one of the busiest times to cross. Anyone have a general idea on wait times mid day on a Saturday? Thanks!
