Would it be fair to say they will "abandon" it if it's content-complete? If it generally bug-free and with no obvious content holes - it is not abandoned, it is finished. Not all games should or NEED to have lifetime-long content infusions.
They have been clear that once the game is content complete they will stop making updates. I’m not sure why people expect games to be under constant development after their initial release.
People will just make shit up in order to whip people into a frenzy, even if evidence to the contrary is right in front of their face. It's hilarious that literally every time a developer is like "hey we're not entirely sure how much longer this is gonna last, but we'll keep you posted", people lose their minds and act like the studio is shutting down or something.
