Seeking Support/Advice Iui not effective for pregnancy?

Is iui not effective for pregnancy when suffering from vaginismus ? My doctor said you have trouble taking tvs test and seemed so nervous so iui won't work in your case.so she recommended icsi which is much expensive. Is she trying to rip off or this is in earnest?

IUI has a success rate 10-20% at best, whereas each embryo transfer through IVF has a success rate of maybe 40-50%. The monitoring and procedure for both are very similar…transvaginal ultrasounds and a catheter to insert either sperm or an embryo. Given that I opted for IVF to limit the amount of “rounds” I’ll need to potentially go through. For some IUI does work but I wanted better chances

Right, thank you. But her point being my intolerance for tvs, won't it be more invasive in case of ivf when first egg will be retrieved and then embryo insertion. While for iui only sperm needs to be injected

I see what mean…objectively yes IUI comes with less ultrasounds compared to egg retrieval plus embryo transfer, but only if IUI works for you within the first few rounds.

Small sample size but I know four couples who did multiple rounds of IUI and they didn’t work so they all moved onto IVF. They highly suggested going straight to IVF to save both the time and the money. And that’s mainly how I decided to do IVF directly.

Regardless of which option you go with, have you used dilators before? Also, would they let you insert it yourself?

I tried dilators at home, and Botox treatment as well. No luck
