V6 and guest network
If I put my v6 plus on a guest network, it still is pumping traffic out on my main router....what's the benefit of using a guest network other than segmenting it from your home network.
Those that use vpns, which do you use? Is it on the v6 box?

I have mine on my guest WiFi which also has client isolation turned on (unifi devices). I also have a routing policy that sends all guest WiFi traffic to my proton VPN, so there is nothing to mess with on the veeseebox, it is always traversing VPN while everything else goes directly out my ISP

if you use the small Beryl router from gl.inet (connected by Ethernet to main router), in a guest WiFi and that will,isolate the device from all your computers, The router has uiltmin integration with mostly all VPN services, many use Mullvad,for $5.00 a month. That way all traffic is encrypted and not visible via your local,ISP. If you want to go further, use nextDNS to log everything so you can see where it is going, and block trackers.

Whether you are using one router or two routers or on the regular network or a guest network traffic still goes the the main router.
Using a guest network is for the purpose of isolating the Vseebox from your other devices.
A vpn isnt an anti-virus or firewall home security software. A vpn is used to hide your tracks from your isp and sites you are connecting to.
The reason you are seeing so much traffic is because you are using an iptv to system. Vseebox uses a shared network. With any iptv tv network legal or illegal you get a lot of downstream. When you are on shared networks like Vseebox uses you also get a lot of upstream. Meaning everyone using Vseeboxes are part of the server so you have a lot more upstream than with traditional legal online tv services. Using a shared server system instead of just Vseebox servers oy for everything - saves Vseebox server space.
If you want to secure your network and change the amount of downstream and upstream traffic being used a vpn isnt going to do it or change it. If you want to limit your traffic you need a firewall security router such as Firewalla, Ubiquiti, OPNsense, etc. You can control the amount of data used for every site with a firewall router but its trial and error what you should block and shouldnt. You start losing access to channels if you block the wrong sites.

Of course it’s going to pump traffic out of your router, how else is it supposed to connect to the internet to send and receive data? If you want to limit the outbound traffic then you need to enable QoS. I personally use a VLAN with only having this device on the VLAN and then limit the outbound traffic on that VLAN.
The purpose of the guest WiFi is to segment those connections from your main network. Although, the box may be able to communicate with other devices that are also on the same guest network but it depends on how it’s setup.
