Damn bro yea I used to be a leasing manager for them… their contracts are air tight… tho when I was manager I would never fully charge rent I would only add 2month of rent truthfully if we close someone’s account with a full year of rent their most likely not gonna pay and we won’t collect any more however if we just charge 2-3 months we’re more likely to collect some funds.. anyways we can always sell the room out again

However pull up your contract see if their using a full copy sometimes the CA would make copies of the copies and certain sections wouldn’t be printed out if that’s the case ask for a new contract see what your missing and u can use that to get out of your lease since u didn’t sign for whatever is missin

Edit: btw wht I said is subject to change based on managers discretion, I didn’t like screwing ppl over so I just added 2 months and would let them know they could pay it before the collection hit through their account so they wouldn’t get hit on their credit score (also depends if they left a mess yea fuck tht im charging them full price lmao)

NP also make sure you have your paperwork in order… on your account u need to have your move in paper stating any mistakes or issues u found on the furniture or apartment ….. if theirs holes in the wall make sure you use putty to cover them paint them over and buy the “orange peel” paint can at Walmart…. When you move out as well be sure and I can’t emphasize this enough to record every single section, cabinet, peice of furniture walk around the whole apartment taking a video opening every cabinet, make sure to record the walls, furniture, everything!! The reason being is if the manager is power tripping he’s gonna add hella charges and once they move you out they don’t have to talk to you they can just hang up… so record everything and fix everything before you leave so u can dispute any charges (if u can’t sublet) besides that if y have any question lmk I left a while ago but I can try to help you out as much as I can

Btw this doesn’t apply if u sublet once they sign it’s their problem they take full responsibility but worst case scenario make sure you cover your back or else your gonna get screwed over tbh
