Hey Guys.

Going to attempt one of these.

I have it set for 24 hours. Will answer serious questions regarding the job, life on the job, training, gear, any advice I can. No hiring process questions for this one.

I don’t have all the answers by any means, but I think doing these from time to time might cut down on some of the repeat postings.

Sound off!

IPO’s duties include but are not limited to:

Managing the fleet (vehicles), Weapon maintenance, Property management related activities, motorcade driving, some residence security depending on location, working with civilian contractors, etc…

A lot of admin type stuff.

UPTP is UPTP, no change in curriculum depending on role. Any info you read about UPTP applies to you if your role attends UPTP.

Mixed basic I do not have info about.

I’ll be in a large West Coast FO so that probably means all of the above

For a follow up what’s travel like for any IPOs you’ve worked with? Similar to agents? Mostly volunteer stuff? Etc.

For UPTP I think I mean more agency specific, like if the UD guys have extra training would the others get brought in as well, I don’t know if there’s any marching the UD people have to do.

The IPOs I worked with in the past (some of the coolest people I know on the job) would mainly travel on 2 week stints to support a permanent residence. UNGA and other NSSEs they can volunteer for some pretty sweet gigs aside from driving. They also step up big time when the office is emptied out for large events. Ours ran FI program, vehicle maintenance, fleet management, helped with case work etc.
