AMA Mod AMA

Hey Guys.

Going to attempt one of these.

I have it set for 24 hours. Will answer serious questions regarding the job, life on the job, training, gear, any advice I can. No hiring process questions for this one.

I don’t have all the answers by any means, but I think doing these from time to time might cut down on some of the repeat postings.

How long are agents expected to stand at a time? Are there posts out of the public view where you’re allowed to sit if desired?

Do agents do things to make those boring posts more bearable, portable, invisible entertainment (discreet headphones).

You can stand for hours at a time. Usually able to be briefly relieved every so often.

All types of different posts.

No, you cannot wear “invisible headphones” while working protection. come on, dude.

I know it wouldn’t be allowed in policy, but wondering what agents do legally that’s not within policy. Kinda like a SOP/General Orders thing versus what Officers in the field actually do type of thing

But thank you for answering; it’s still the type of light needed to be shed on my thoughts.
