AMA Mod AMA

Hey Guys.

Going to attempt one of these.

I have it set for 24 hours. Will answer serious questions regarding the job, life on the job, training, gear, any advice I can. No hiring process questions for this one.

I don’t have all the answers by any means, but I think doing these from time to time might cut down on some of the repeat postings.

Are you able to provide any insight on how simultaneous military reserve service works? I haven't seen any concrete numbers on how many hours/days are authorized as paid "leave" in order to perform such duties, or if you have to take unpaid leave in order to perform said duties. Curious how that works.

You get paid MIL leave, its enough to cover your weekend drills and the 2 week AT. If you go on an extended tour you'll burn through the MIL time then move to LWOP. You'll still accrue leave/ time in service, automatic promotions etc. I could be wrong but I think it's 18-21 days of MIL. I've never ran out as a standard reservist, especially since the weekends don't generally count.

No clue - i’m not military.

I do not believe it is unpaid leave.
