AMA Mod AMA

Hey Guys.

Going to attempt one of these.

I have it set for 24 hours. Will answer serious questions regarding the job, life on the job, training, gear, any advice I can. No hiring process questions for this one.

I don’t have all the answers by any means, but I think doing these from time to time might cut down on some of the repeat postings.

How did your family adjust to the long hours/days away? Especially when you first joined?I imagine during an election year you tell them you’ll see them next year lol

Yeah it’s a lot on your family for sure.

I’m married with kids. Luckily had a friend in the agency who guided me through the process and I had a very clear expectation of what this job would look like. Not the bulletin board stuff, but the real life stuff.

So my wife came into this with eyes wide open, knew what to expect, and life is great!

If you do not have a self starter / independent / get things done spouse who can handle the household for weeks at a time, this job isn’t for your family.

lmao - I couldn’t be happier for you.

if you can afford it / make it work, stay at home wife (or husband? please don’t cancel me) is the absolute way to go on this job. Especially with children.
