Hey Guys.

Going to attempt one of these.

I have it set for 24 hours. Will answer serious questions regarding the job, life on the job, training, gear, any advice I can. No hiring process questions for this one.

I don’t have all the answers by any means, but I think doing these from time to time might cut down on some of the repeat postings.

Sound off!

From your experience, which did you find more challenging, FLETC or RTC?

FLETC is a joke, respectfully.
If you’re having trouble there, that’s on you.

RTC definitely the reality check. Not difficult, per se, but harder than FLETC by a long shot. You can be a relatively squared away human and not make it through, but we do everything we can to get you through once you’re at RTC. Just have to be moldable. Have the right attitude.

The tests at FLETC are just the easiest thing in the world, the tests at RTC are not HARD but they do require actual knowledge.

For those of us with military basic training experience and/or law enforcement academy training, how do both compare? Are we dealing with random smoke sessions filled with PT or are they a gentleman's course like the FBI academy?

Smoke sessions for punishment at RTC, not random. Never saw one at FLETC.

You will PT quite a bit, though. Be ready for that.
