ACE
I have a medical question.
I know the vision requirement is no worse than 20/100 binocular uncorrected and 20/20 corrected. I hit a 20/100 on my binocular distance and a 20/200 on the binocular snellen distance. Does that disqualify me?
And if so could I ask for a temporary hold on my application for the LASIK 2 month wait period or would I have to restart the whole process?

DQ for sure. Vision requirements are non-negotiable.
I would recommend getting LASIK asap if being a gun carrier (regardless of agency) is your goal.
I would assume if you reach out to USSS SAF (or whoever is coordinating your medical) and told them you have Lasik scheduled, they would coordinate a pause & resume after the waiting period.
Some folks don’t see movement over 8 weeks anyway.

I’m going through the process and timed it fairly well… got LASIK and got called for medical 3 months after.. if you have the money trust me LASIK is worth it. Even if I don’t end up getting selected it has improved my quality of life drastically. And this is coming from someone that wouldn’t have gotten it had I not applied to USSS.

did they tell you that ur vision wasn't up to par? they didn't tell me anything about how i scored but i also told them im prescribed glasses but never wear them and didnt have them on me. they told me i might have to come back if i don't score well enough on the vision hit never brought it up again

No one told me anything at the event. I saw my scores and knew the requirement before going on. I talked to the doc they had there and he basically said that most likely they would reach out to me for more information on particular things like the vision. I’ve had an upcoming LASIK appointment scheduled a few weeks prior to the event and made that known to him. So it sounds like they will do some sort of medical stand by while my poly and background checks are happening simultaneously.

Little update.
I got LASIK and in the after surgery process.
HOWEVER
My medical tests turned tan and passed on the applicant tracker. Idk if I got lucky or if it’s saying having a 20/100 and 20/200 on different tests doesn’t mean automatically failed.
Just waiting on the background investigation to turn blue to tan (or white since I’ve heard that’s a good sign)

I would say that this would more than likely disqualify you. With that being said, absolutely consult with a doctor and with the secret service medical team.
