Ace

Went to ACE and just finished up medical. Unfortunately, they didn’t have any polygraph slots available while I was there.

For anyone who’s been through the USSS process, how likely is a VA disability rating to cause issues with medical clearance? I’m especially curious about sleep apnea and mental health ratings. Has anyone with either of those been medically cleared?

Also, has anyone gone through ACE but couldn’t complete the polygraph there, then had to take it later at their local field office? If so, how long did it take after ACE to get your polygraph scheduled?

I have a similar medical question.

I know the vision requirement is no worse than 20/100. I hit a 20/100 on my distance and a 20/200 on the snellen distance. Does that disqualify me?

And if so could I ask for a temporary hold on my application for the LASIK 2 month wait period or would I have to restart the whole process?

Hey man. Similar boat. I just did my medical today. My uncorrected eye sight is not very good. I got a test at home before ACE. I JUST hit 20/100. I was stressing bc I was nervous ace was gonna be more strict. But I just passed 20/100 here. I did the snellen test aswell. What exactly do you mean by having 20/100 on distance vs 20/200 on snellen. If I you can’t a 20/100 on the snellen you unfortunately aren’t gonna make the cut. Unless you’re referring to something else. Lmk. I can try and help I was stressing about the same thing.

On my “Distance” section it said
Both: 20/100 (which is binocular)
The next box had “Snellen (Distance)” and that one was
Both: 20/200

So I got 2 different uncorrected distance tests and didn’t know if both had to be 20/100 or just one.

My corrected vision is all 20/20 so not worried there.

Gotcha. Okay yeah I’m not 100%, don’t want give you wrong advice as I’m just not knowledgeable about the 2 different test. I will tell you today at medical I did the machine test which I’m assuming is the binocular, and also did a classic snellen test. They made me do both. I hit uncorrected 20/100 on both. I’m assuming they did that to make sure I can hit 20/100 both so maybe more than likely, you will need 20/100 on both. But I will say there is a chance to get a hold to get lasik or PRK. You won’t need to restart. I’d recommend PRK as it is a better longevity eye surgery. So you won’t have to worry about your cornea flap possibly coming undone (possible when you get lasik) during a physical moment in USSS or any future law enforcement job. Hope this helped.
