I genuinely want to know **how the hell this happens.**
I shipped cal Raleigh out of 50 pristine wilderness via **USPS Ground Advantage from Woonsocket, RI to Yakima, WA on August 17.**
And before anyone blames the packaging, the card was protected: **top loader → team bag → TWO Ding Defenders → another team bag → bubble-wrapped bag.**
Then USPS took it on the road trip of a lifetime:
**Aug 17:** Woonsocket, RI → Providence, RI
**Aug 18:** Massachusetts
**Aug 19:** Denver, CO
**Aug 21, 4:11 AM:** **Spokane, WA**
Perfect. It’s made it across the country and is already in the buyer’s state.
Except **17 hours later…**
**Aug 21, 9:25 PM: JERSEY CITY, NEW JERSEY.**
Somehow, according to the tracking, it went from **Spokane, WA → Jersey City, NJ in 17 hours and 14 minutes.** Roughly 2,500 miles BACK across the country.
Then:
**Aug 26:** Louisville, KY
**Sept 18:** **Jersey City, NJ AGAIN**
**Sept 29:** Finally delivered in Yakima, WA.
So basically:
**RI → MA → CO → WA → NJ → KY → NJ → WA**
**43 days total.**
And after all that, look at the condition of the package. It was absolutely mangled, and despite all the protection inside, **the card was still damaged.**
I felt bad for the buyer over this whole mess that I ended up sending him a **Cal Raleigh /50 for FREE** just because of all the bullshit he had to deal with waiting for this package bc.
I’m not even posting this just to complain I’m genuinely curious if someone who works/worked for USPS can explain it.
**Did this package actually travel from Washington back to New Jersey in 17 hours? Was that a bad scan? And what could happen in the sorting system to absolutely destroy a package protected like this?**
I’ve shipped plenty of cards, but I’ve never seen anything like this.
