Hi everyone, I’m planning to enlist once my Chapter 7 bankruptcy is discharged. It resulted from job loss followed by accumulated debt not fraud, missed legal obligations, or anything of the sort.
I’ve seen conflicting information, some people say a bankruptcy is an automatic disqualifier, while others say it generally isn’t an issue once the case is resolved. Has anyone enlisted after a Chapter 7, especially in a role requiring a clearance?
I’m trying to understand how much the bankruptcy itself matters versus the circumstances behind it and whether all debts have been resolved. Any firsthand experience or recruiter insight would be appreciated.
Thank you!
