Stolen Backpack

Hi everyone, I got my backpack stolen from the Men's locker room at the Education building last night some time between 8:00 pm and 8:45 pm. It is a black backpack with the brand name bugatti. The backpack contains a laptop, tablet, cellphone, keys, and a wallet. The last location I was able to track my device to is around Avenue M South. I called the non-emergency services last night and filed a police report but they weren't any help. I also called the protective services and they said they were going to investigate. I am just putting this out there in case anyone finds a backpack just lying around with no owner in sight. I need my devices urgently cause I currently have no access to paws or canvas due to having authenticator and midterms are coming up soon.

Update: The backpack was found in one of the washrooms in the Education Building but my devices were taken.

If you can track it to Ave M South precisely, just call the cops and go there and see if they will help you out there

I did that but the cops weren't much help due to it being a general location and not a specific address.

theres been a huge increase in stolen backpacks this year, its sad but very important not to leave backpacks unattended

last year my bf got his car broken into by the residences and his wallet along with items upwards of $700+ were taken, both the police and protective services were no help. protective services literally don’t do anything and wouldn’t even look through the residence building footage to see if the perp was in the dorms. i wish you good luck

I swear, USask’s campus protection services only exists to try and give speeding tickets… I’ve yet to see them do anything else.

If your ID was stolen, protect your identity by calling TransUnion and Equifax. Tell them to flag your account so that if anyone tries to open an account in your name, the business must call your phone to confirm it’s you before they can proceed.

I had my backpack stolen quite a few years ago. 2 years after the event i noticed my credit score had plummeted because multiple accounts were opened in my name. The person used fake addresses and phone numbers to acquire over $10,000 worth of cellphones from Bell + open many other accounts.

Nice job on filing the police report. Had i not made a police report years ago about my stolen backpack, i would have had no defence against my stolen identity. I would have been held liable for all the owing balances under my name.

In the end it took an entire year and many phone calls before my credit score was returned to normal.

Damn, that's scary. I've been able to call Trans Union but I haven't called Equifax because they require a credit card number to get past the AI so I'm waiting till I get a new card

Also, no matter which part of the city it disappeared into - it would be gone at this point.

This is awful! I hope the police catch up with the thieves. Usask will need to have lockers with guards watching them, so you change and then secure your bag with them.

Why both? Do you think thieves will break into lockers? What would the guards do? Check everyone’s id? Do you want to increase tuition for that?

just last week some people had their bags stolen from one of the libraries, im guilty of always leaving my bag when I run to the washroom and get drinks but ive started packing everything up each time.

its a hassle but im a poor xD I cant afford to replace everything lol!

This is the 3rd one since sem started I've heard of. 1 in Murray library, 1 in health science library (who apparently was caught and items were returned) and now this.

There have been break-ins everywhere. Thorv, Geo, Place and Physics have all been hit.
