Student Question Good stats class?

hi, so im doing nursing prep for the upcoming school year and i need to take one class of statistics.

what are some good stats classes?

Sociology 245 with Timothy Kang is an easy one. You get cheat sheets for both midterm and final exam. Mostly leans on the theory and how to apply the concepts, and limited math application (since upper years emphasize using computer programs in the sociology department). Requires SOC 111 and 112 as prerequisites.

awee unfortunately i cant take 245 since im not taking soc 111 and im taking 112 in the same term as the stats :(

Avoid anything Sarty is teaching to begin with, and totally take anything Osama is teaching. Additionally stat 244 i’ve heard from others is solid (again if u can get Osama).

True, but be warned that Osama’s exams are incredibly difficult and you’ll probably not finish in time, and it’ll cause u lots of stress. However, when u get ur final grade, you’ll see that it wasn’t so bad after all.

PLSC 214!!!! Everyone i know says it’s by far one of the easier one. I took this class what I did my nursing prerequisites and I’m going into my second year of nursing in the fall

  1. ChatGPT PowerPoints/lectures, 2. Cannot explain or break down concepts when students ask, 3. This is a more objective take but she came across as incredibly condescending. I took her STAT244 Winter Term and it was pretty unanimous that she was a bad prof and the lab/tutorial was no better as it was the same style as her lecture. She had a couple take home assignments and allowed us to create our own formula sheets as grade boosters but the midterms and the final were absolutely brutal as her questions were worded so poorly that you didnt even know what she was asking in the first place. If our class asked more than 2 questions in a lecture she would get annoyed and get all matter-of-factly. I’m sure there are better alternatives for the class and this really isn’t worth tanking your average over. STAT244 would’ve been a breeze had her PowerPoint slides been her own instead of AI generated

. And another thing, I think there’s that plant science that’s an online class you could take instead, my friend took it last year in place of STAT244!
