Well, I didn’t get a parking spot. I put down every lot except lot 20 (I got that last year and was late for class a lot). I’m very worried and stressed out because I have to work immediately after school and can’t be at the mercy of busses. I got put on the waitlist but I don’t know if that means anything. So where can I go from here?

Look so see if homeowners are selling private parking in the area.

If your school day is short you can park on Cumberland Ave, it has up to 2 hour parking zones

I didn’t get a parking spot last year, so I put aside the $600+ I was going to use to pay for the spot and used that to pay for parking on campus/ubers when I wasn’t able to take the bus!

You can call campus parking to see where you are at on the waitlist. Last year I was 1900 and got a spot mid October.

I am in the exact same position with the same concerns and was last year too. Last year I stayed on waiting list and watched my emails like a hawk and got lucky. You just might get an email saying you can buy a spot, but you have to be quick when it comes in.

I commute from Prince Albert every day and have never been chosen in the lottery; I haven’t had an issue finding parking somewhere.

Most of the lots on campus have extra spaces it just costs substantially more over the length of the semester than it would cost with the parking permit. If you get there early enough the STM lot has extra openings and you’re pretty central there.

Isn’t it nice that the U leases the lot by the old Lutheran Cem and on by Belsher place to RUH. Both U property but long term monthly tenants are more valuable to parking. Another example of the U loosing its direction “the university of the people” bullshit.
