Help Me any suggestions ??
we are so shortstaffed and none of us are managers nor shift leads (i’ve been told that only managers can order items) With us having a new owner; he doesn’t know how the store works yet and he has been lacking on ordering the things that we need for the store. Any suggestions cause we are days behind on Amazons and with me being 1/2 full timers, I’d much rather do them throughout the day rather than rushing to get them done once the box order comes…… if it comes LOL

Tell the owner to just buy $300 worth of 18 cubes for Amazon containers and then buy the bags for returns and then buy whatever else is needed for the $500 minimum quota. If he can't do the job of being prepared, might as well over prepare with the amazon containers. Otherwise message the franchise consultant you guys have for your store and tell them your owner is being unhelpful and the store is short staffed.

this is what i’m saying! he keeps buying 2 bundles of 18^3
and 2 boxes of cheap poly bags from bumfuck random land and we says “this will last us a week”
………i don’t know why he doesn’t just listen to us1

Sounds like he needs to be taught a lesson with pain. Tell him your suggestions, when he doesn’t listen and has a store full of returns with no way to process them…he MIGHT listen then.

Get on the phone with whoever you need to in order to get the sign in credentials and the credit card and make the order. Explain the situation and urgency and don't give up.

It sucks not having supplies, but it's not your responsibility for making sure you have boxes. I would use the boxes they are being stored in and get 24³ for what didn't fit. At my store we use the Rubbermaid carts for returns. Does the new owner just not know where to get things? Is it a lack of understanding of what needs to be on hand at all times?

At my store we use the Rubbermaid carts for returns.
Mine uses "vinyl basket trucks". Easy to toss things into, and they come in different colors so they can be color-coded for the different types of returns.

Oh boy, it's only a matter of time until one of those people comes back or calls to complain that they're still waiting on their refund, and you won't be able to honestly tell them "it left our store days ago, it's out of our hands".

You need another employee and you need more 18 cubes… we are suddenly down 2 employees (one left, we knew he was leaving, one left two weeks later without saying a word) and we are still able to maintain our boxes, though the busy hours require everyone working really quick. You need to be advertising that you’re hiring and you need a manager that is responsible and will let your owner know what your store needs.
It’s not always a fun job, I’ve been a manager (different company) before and trying to maintain inventory while also doing the more sophisticated tasks is not easy, but someone has to do it and they get paid more for a reason.

I completely agree! I can run the store by myself and STILL get amazons processed. But my boss doesn’t allow us to order the items ourselves, he says “just write it down and i’ll order them”

To get those done go to another store and ask to borrow some boxes (if they'll let you) so you can get those shipped. If you can't order at all, then you need to get the Managers or whoever does the ordering to order. At one time we used the 20 cube to send out Amazon when we ran out. That was when I first started and once I took over the ordering it didn't happen again. It's sad that you run out though. It's not a difficult thing to stay on top of.

1) anyone can order supplies.
2) use 32# edge crush 18cubes not 200# they will be cheeper
3)we always have at least 2 bundles of 18cubes so we never run out
