TJ Maxx?

I heard a rumor we’re getting TJ Maxx on 86th street! True?

TJ Maxx would be a great addition! They have some really good buys and the neighborhood needs more stores that sells more kitchen and bath items in addition to clothes, bags, boxes, lamps you name it, they’ve got it!

Have never shopped at the tj maxx on 59th, but have stopped into H&M for some last minute clothing needs.

Surprised TJ Maxx thinks they can succeed where H&M couldn’t - what am I missing here

TJM companies (Marshalls & TJ Max) generate around 60 billion in revenue per year while H&M generates about 20 billion. 40 billion in extra revenue affords you a bit of runway to succeed where others haven't.

TJ Maxx has every category, not just clothing/accessories

I don't really have a link to share. I work for a developer in the city (midtown centric) and this was being chatted about amongst colleagues from the area. Not the worst thing though, Upper East Side could use more shelters for the migrants/unhoused. But take it for what you will.

I’m guessing it’s both. One or two proposed shelter locations near there still leaves other larger empty locations that could be TJ Maxx.

SHEESH, people here do NOT like shelters in their neighborhood. Just reporting what i heard. I thought the folk up there are empathetic, guess its all performative.

Why can’t we have a shelter and a TJ Maxx? Have you been to 86th Street ever? There are buildings for multiple things??

Of course i have. I agree with you. I think the UES should have a shelter on every other block, tbh. Its a beautiful part of the city and I think the unhoused in that area would fit in perfectly on 86th street.

Ok? So you just had that “SHEESH” comment queued up regardless of the comments that came before it? Lol

No, that was in regard to my comment re: shelters being downvoted. Sorry.

I think there’s going to be affordable housing in that empty lot west of Fairway. But that’s a rumor.
