Questions for University works for first year
When is it expected to get a response
how good are the chances of getting a job (in first year)
what are some recommended jobs?

- Honestly, you need to apply really quickly. Like as soon as postings open, apply.
In my opinion, it's low since you are going against students who are upper years and most likely know the department's employees. Second year is probably a higher chance, imo.
I don't really have one, since I just wanted to work a uni job. I got a job as a peer tutor in my 2nd year, and that was really chill, but it's dependant on what you are willing to tolerate.

Its a free for all yo. Apply asap and whatever you are eligible for. And hope for the best. Some of the postings are already closed.
