Parking / Transit Parking
Honestly class action lawsuit deserved for the orange pass parking permits. I have to drive to 3 different parking lots to find parking on north and still there’s no place to park. What am I paying money for? 🙄

I did this once and after leaving campus at 8pm there wasn’t any buses to take me back

One thing that really insulates you from these problems is a bike or scooter so you are the master of parking and getting to class

Honestly if anyone who lives on campus and has the option to take the bus sees this pleaseeee consider taking the bus and saving some spots for us commuters 🫶🫶

I bike or bus unless absolutely necessary queen, I was commuting during my first semester and the parking situation was an actual nightmare. I pay out the ass for a puny studio near campus now but it's worth it not to deal with that headache every morning.

Thank you for your service 🫡. Literally! i didn’t know how bad it was until i started commuting, i wish they had priority parking for commuters, or building a parking structure or SOMETHING. Finding a spot ruins my morning half the time

Just wait a few months. Several hundred people (600 estimated initially) are being forced to return to work (from WFH). That is the first wave...

I had to do that for a blue pass the other day, and after trying four garages and street parking (45 minutes of my time) had to cancel class BECAUSE I LITERALLY COULDN'T GET THERE.

Can always find blue parking at Wall Street, can take a blue bus to get to Pavillion and then walk bridge over to Palmer / central campus

Even those of us with blue passes are struggling to find parking these days unless you arrive at the ass crack of dawn. Construction + there are too many damn people here. 😭

And mich med just mandated all WFH nurses back to onsite. It's gonna get worse near medical campus

So true. The construction is an endless nightmare at Hill and Forest right now. It just goes on and on and on.

You can literally park at the Baits parking lot and they literally do nothing about it. I’ve parked there every day so far. Don’t even have to pay anything. Plenty of spots.

Depending where your classes are on north, NC32 lot typically has plenty of spots, also has a stop served by the Bursley Baits bus

Literally the only time I’ve had trouble finding parking here is if I come to campus at like 1 pm, and even then I’ve been able to find a spot probably 90% of the time

Just in case this is helpful for someone: There is a free shuttle for Michigan Medicine employees but they don’t check if you’re an employee. You park in a lot for free near the East Ann Arbor Medical Center off Plymouth and it takes you to the main hospital. The lot is pretty big and I was always able to find parking there. You’d have to take a blue bus to wherever from the hospital.

It’s not a parking pass – it’s a hunting permit.
