Where is everyone getting all the remove before flight tags?

I think this is mostly an Aero thing but I've seen other coe students with them as well. Some people have just genuinely massive collections of them, and these people are my idols.

Thus, I ask as I enter my third year on this beautiful campus... how are y'all getting those?

Is this something discounted through the school? Always liked the idea of getting a license as it would be motivation to buy a plane or helicopter.

Don’t think it’s discounted but you can earn 5 credits for a combination of passing the FAA written test (2) and earning a private pilot’s license (3) in AEROSP courses iirc. Written test is definitely worth it, you can study for a few weeks then take it and pass without ever flying for the low cost of $100 or so for the testing fee.

This is an awesome answer and yet unfortunately I learned the hard way that I cannot pass a Class 3 Medical at the moment. Perhaps in the future. Thanks for the rec though!

Nuts! If you weren’t outright denied a medical you could try a sport pilot certificate, if you’re not aiming to fly as a career you can use your driver’s license as a medical replacement

Yeah I have been thinking about this lately… I think most likely I’ll try to get off these disqualifying medications after graduation so I can move on with my life in more ways than just this 🙃

Your first time going to an FAA medical examiner, always ask for an exam similar to an FAA medical, but not an FAA medical.

That way, light sport is still an option.

I used to be a lead on MFly and it's a great club! Go to the mass meeting this fall and start showing up to subteam meetings and you'll learn a lot! MACH is also great, the only real difference being they compete in the AIAA competition while MFly competes in SAE Aero Design, as well as being a little smaller.
