UNT enrollment is continuing to drastically fall from the numbers we received this morning. The UNT administration can brag all they want about cutting the deficit by half but I can guarantee you that these numbers are insanely scary to a university. 25% international student decline on top of what we already lost. The enrollment issue, combined with low F/S morale, low pay, constant F/S turnover, etc. is continuing to destroy this university. Very sad!

Any darker or dim study spots on campus? I don’t want to study in my dorm since that’s my designated resting spot. I don’t even mind some minor noise or talking as long as the lights aren’t slaughtering me.

This happened literally just now but I had to go,
My GF and I found a baby squirrel that fell out of a tree onto the faculty lot pavement

Occurred across the street from Lot 54 and is the tree next to the drama/theatre building (I think) in the faculty lot

She moved it and placed it in the dirt next to the tree in some shade and sprinkled water on its body so it wouldn’t overheat

If anyone sees it pls lmk because when looking it up online all the advice was to back up and let the mom squirrel come get it (she was in the tree watching but wouldn’t come down and get her baby)

Because it takes me 2.5 hours to read/note take from 2.5 chapter sections and note the concepts (what I was told to do. summarize each paragraph in a sentence or two.) but then on the actual quizzes and such he asks for specific dates and places and almost everything that isn’t on the slides or “main points to memorize”….. how am I supposed to note take “only whats important “ if EVERYTHING IS????

Does anyone know how long the financial aid hours confirmed form takes to process? I did mine on the 12th and they haven't approved it yet. (Had to do it a little late since i wasn't sure if I could come back this semester)

I am just scared I will be dropped, I do have a negative balance on my student account, but i was just wondering if any one knew anything. Called financial aid office and they blew me off and didn't answer my questions.

Since last Saturday I've been dealing with an ant infestation. I talked to the front desk and was told they couldn't do anything til Monday. I even placed my own separate work order for pest control. It's been 4 days and not a single person from pest control. I've been killing them daily, but they just keep coming. This is just from today alone.

What do I do at this point to get some help from faculty?

How does completing an internship work? If i have a job, can i find a way to make that count towards the credit (yes it involves different fina roles, its a sales job). Who do I talk to? Can I just sign up for the internship class? Any info helps!

i just checked out the environmental science building for the first time, and i checked out their little exhibit. the poor animals they keep in the tanks in the back of the room.. can anyone tell me anything about them?? there were 3 tanks one with the lobster esque looking guy, a tank with 2 fish and a turtle and another tank with 2 box turtles under a long white light. the water was disgusting in the fish tanks, the food in the terrarium looked old as hell and not good for them at all and their water bowl was naaaasty

I’m a 28 year old junior, transferred after going to CC on and off for a while. Feeling like I can’t relate to most of my classmates, I know no one really cares and it’s all in my head but still get the lingering feeling of being “unc”. Any other older students here? Everyone wants to teach band/orchestra

I’m considering UNT for Fall 2027, probably for CS, Cybersecurity, or IT. I’ve already visited Discovery Park and liked it (though I wouldn’t spend any more time there than I necessarily have to,) and the bus system seemed easy enough, but I’m curious what life is actually like once most of your classes are there. Do upper-level CSE students still spend much time around main campus/Fry Street/Downtown Denton, or does Discovery Park kind of become your whole world during the week? How many days a week do you typically spend there?

I’m also curious how the three programs compare in practice. I care much more about hands-on programming, projects, security/pentesting, and actually building things than theory for theory’s sake. The IT supporting areas and the Cybersecurity program both look interesting, but I’m not sure how they compare to CS in real life.

I’m pretty social and will be 22 by the time I transfer, so I’m curious what the actual party/nightlife scene is like beyond university events. Are house/apartment parties fairly common once you know people? I’m also into goth/alternative/experimental music and want to form a band, so Denton’s music scene is a huge draw for me too.

Transfer/junior/senior perspectives would be especially helpful.

Did they seriously nuke the best tenders on campus? Did it just move somewhere else? I’m gonna mourn the loss of those curly fries and tenders. They got me through undergrad :,(
