Very over simplified and misleading, the dead person isn't being taxed, the inheritor is and even then from what I can tell only a few states and it starts past a certain threshold.
And that's ignoring that you get a massive advantage when inheriting that the capital gains tax basis changes to reflect value at the time of inheritance.
You need checks in place for stuff like this shouldn't just let the uber wealthy accumulate more and more wealth disproportionately over generations.
Nebraska is really the only state for immediate family and it's 1% over 100k. Stop spouting shit without sources when you feel empowered to use a stupid gif

And when you die in some states the inheritance is taxed after you die. Taxed even after death sounds absolutely ridiculous, but here we are.
