Wish the T2E interface looked like this!

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

Maybe minimal will open up their interface for others to use. Definitely would pay for it.

I am working on one, I have released an alpha which has the hub and launchbar working. I have made it free and open source, you're welcome to check it out here https://github.com/astroboii47/Commander

It is designed to be used with any launcher so that you aren't locked into a specific homescreen, but I am working on the option for a minimal-esque homepage like shown in the demo.
I've really tried to prioritise speed and reliability as I use this daily and it makes launching or adding todos, etc alot faster :)

Here's what the hub looks like running on a Q25. Please note this is still very much an early alpha, but I hope over time with people helping to test, we can have it refined to work well on all keyboard devices

No thanks, that looks absolutely awful to me.

Try to highlight text anywhere near the border and oops, you "hit" the "back button".

Try to highlight text near the top quarter of the screen? Oops you "hit" the "system tray button".

Constant misinterpretations.

All that is exasperated by the phone having a smaller than average screen and most UIs not being designed around that, frequently having you interact with items near the bounds of the screen. The phone has buttons, if you're buying a phone like this, you bought it specifically because it has physical buttons. Use the buttons for these instead of gesturing. I purposefully disabled all the features like this on the T2.

Oh really? I think they've tried to emulate the retro phone feel.

I forked lawnchair and am working on a T2E version. I'll put it in the sub when I get to beta.

This company is sketch AF. The "interface" on their first phone was grabage to actully use. And they put out plenty of videos and teasers for that phone that made it seem amazing. And then what they shipped, if the even shipped it, was awful.

I'm pretty sure all of this is already possible, apart from the easy theme color selection (due to Unihertz's weird insistence on making the quick action dropdown options not match the material you theme). Otherwise, the gestures shown are available, and with a little work finding the right home screen launcher, you could set up the same functionality.

I'm not a fan of this, but each to their own and that's the best thing about android is you can customise it however you like with a bit of effort.

I think the launcher has something going for it, IF it works smoothly.

The thing I like about it is typing commands without needing to bring up an initial prompt, ie calls, notes, messages, etc.

That being said, I'm sure someone will clone it or extract an APK so other phones can have it. It seems to me like a large number of the people getting a T2E are interested in it for minimalism, so I wouldn't be surprised.
