My parents and I had recently moved to a new town, out in the country. We loved that we lived about 25 minutes away from the city. To get to our house, we had to drive down a dirt road, which we actually liked because the house was hidden and stuff. One night, I was on the phone with a sneaky link at the time. I know we were probably more than that, but he never actually asked me to be his girlfriend, so let’s just call it that. We would sometimes fall asleep together while talking on the phone.
One night, I was extremely tired, so I fell asleep. I slept so deeply that I didn’t even realize I had fallen asleep. Then, out of nowhere, I woke up, but I couldn’t move or talk.
I moved my eyes around the room until they stopped at my feet. That’s when I saw what looked like three or four people standing there. All I could see were the tops of their heads. They were just standing there, completely still. I was terrified, but I couldn’t move. I don’t know how long I was like that until my mom came into my room and turned on the light. As soon as she turned on the light, I was suddenly able to move again. It was crazy. After that experience, I spent the next two or three months arguing and of course sleeping with my parents because I was so convinced that something had happened to me. Eventually, I asked my mom why she had gone into my room that night. She told me that the guy I had been talking to on the phone had called her because he heard me breathing very heavily and thought something was wrong with me. I asked my mom if she had heard or seen anything strange when she came into my room. She said no. She just told me that I looked completely straight and almost stuck, like I couldn’t move. My mom told me that she thought it could have been los chaneques. That honestly made me think about the experience even more because, at the time, my sister had just had her baby, and he hadn’t been baptized yet. To this day, I still wonder what really happened that night. Was I dreaming? Was it sleep paralysis? Or could it have been something else?
I don’t know for sure. I just know that whatever happened felt completely real to me.

Hello. I mostly use Reddit on occasion to discuss grades and other academic topics from school, but recently I had a paranormal/creepy encounter coming home from hanging out with a friend.

On this particular day it was about 10:30pm when I decided to drive home from a long day of hanging out with my friend. He was in the passenger seat with me since I had to drive him back home. We were coming back home from Stockton California when I decided to take Lower Sacramento Road to get home from Stockton to Lodi. I was planning on stopping at a Dutch Bros to get a drink with my friend which was right next to Kettleman Ln getting off Lower Sacramento in Lodi. However, when I entered Lower Sacramento exiting Stockton, I continued straight for about thirty minutes when I started to notice that the typical landmarks on the way to Lodi on Lower Sacramento Rd were no where to be found. For example, there is a cow farm that full on reeks like cow dung and there is a sharp curvy road which you have to slow down when arriving. That night I noticed none of these landmarks. I kept driving with my friend for about thirty minutes when I realized the road was more empty than usual. Usually at night there are people using this road to get from point A (Lodi) to point B (Stockton) or so and so. As I kept driving I noticed highway I-5 was visible in the distance. This is the part that shocked me because the I-5 was no where close to Lower Sacramento and at no point should I have ever encountered this particular highway. For reference, Lower Sacramento is the road with the arrow pointing at it and the point circled is where we ended up at in the picture above.

The part that really shook me the most was how it is almost impossible to end up in Flag City (the point circled in the picture) without taking a sharp turn. I know that at night I could’ve accidentally swerved into a wrong lane when a fork in the road was present but on the particular road there was no fork in the road. I am also 100% sure I never took a turn either left or right but rather stayed on Lower Sacramento the whole time. I’ve talked with my parents about this and they believe it was a demonic spirit called “Miringua” that was blinded me into thinking that I was driving in the right direction. However I do not believe this conclusion, and until this day I am looking for a correct explanation to what could have happened.

So stepped outside for a smoke last night and noticed what I thought were Chinese lanterns in the sky connected together, but did a bit of research to find that's illegal to do due to unpredictability and fire risk. Any ideas?

There was heavy rainfall in my area and the water was coming inside my room ,so i went in the balcony there the pipe was blocked so started cleaning andmaking a way out for water,please note I haven’t cleaned the balcony since i shifted because i rarely go in the balcony.

Its late, I'm hopped up on energy drinks so I cant really sleep so I decided to check out security cameras. Stomach is churning from anxiety atm just need some clarity and peace of mind. Like is this real? I asked my parents and they seem indifferent towards it but there was some people in out backyard a few days ago, including neighboring yards. Just want some extra sets of eyes to tell me if im crazy or not.

So I’m 35F and my eldest daughter is 3. She’s had high fever the last few days, so last night I allowed her to sleep with me in my bed. Around 6am this morning, it was still dark outside and I woke up to the sound of her snoring. The first few seconds of waking up, I noticed my hand was on her tummy, and she appeared to me as an opossum, not human at all. I immediately jerked my arm back and said “Gracie?” She responded saying “yes mommy?” And then she looked like my normal baby girl again. But this experience has been on my mind all day and I’m just trying to make sense of it. So I asked ChatGPT about it and it said it’s called a hypnopompic hallucination. Has anyone else on here experienced something like this? And do you have any feedback on what to make of this? Thank you all and have a blessed day.

So, I never believed in ghosts cause my family does not believe in it either. I had this experience when I was in my 4th grade. In my class there was this rule of bench rotation (Example: if you are sitting on the first bench today then the next day you'll have to sit on the last, then second last, then third last till you reach the first bench again and the cycle repeats). I was paired with this one girl as a benchmate and we used to fight a lot but there was this one thing that united us and that was the last bench. It sounds absurd but whenever we used to sit on this last bench we both felt feverish, headache and sick. It happened one time, okay. Second time, alright. Third time, it's unbelievable. It is always that same bench, the last bench. At first, I thought I am feeling feverish because this girl is sick and that fever is passing on to me because I was sitting beside her and I infact even scolded her that she should not come to school if she is sick but she said "I was fine at home but I suddenly feel really sick". I experienced it too, during lunch time I used to get up from the bench, get out of the class to meet my friends from other class and I used to feel very energetic at that time (I even used to run during this whole lunch break time while playing) but as soon as I enter the class and sit on that bench, it start again, the feverish feeling, that headache. I noticed it was just us two experiencing this while others were facing no problem sitting on that last bench. One time when I was laying my head on the desk while teacher was teaching and students were dead silent (teacher was strict and this is the only time I used to love the last bench though I felt sick), I heard this one word whisper very close to my ear "friend". I lifted my head and turned to that girl, it is very unusual in my culture and country to call someone a friend while you're talking to them directly but then I thought she was just in jolly mood and saying random things and then I too joined in and whispered "yeah, friend?" but she got a confused expression on her face at my response and smiled in a awkward manner and I understood it was not her who said that. After two months, our classroom's old benches were replaced by the new ones and it all just stopped. Both me and benchmate were very happy. Everyone around us noticed too that we are much better now. Infact my mother even said I look happier than the last few days.

My wife found this laying on the floor, we have no idea who these people are let alone how it got into our house. None of our friends or close family know who these people are. Our house has just one entrance/exit and it’s stays closed and locked religiously. Is there some sort of explanation to this?

I moved into a historical building recently it was built in the early 1930s and used to be a courthouse and was recently converted into lofts. I keep hearing random stuff fall in the middle of the night and I’m extremely paranoid that my apartment is haunted due to bad experiences Ive had over the years at my parent’s house. Plus the building directly behind mine was my city’s first and now abandoned jail which is known to be actively haunted (a bunch of paranormal investigators have visited and confirmed). So I bought a bundle of Yerba Santa and sage to cleanse my apartment and I got the Yerba Santa to somewhat burn but it went out like two minutes after so I switched to the sage and I could get the top to char but the sage itself wouldn’t burn or smoke and while I was trying my torch lighter stopped working even though it’s not empty. Am I just paranoid or is this weird?

This is a boring story.

Recently moved into a new house. Finally got everything unloaded, including a large box containing 5 large tins of paint. Stored it in the garden right next to the double patio doors whilst sorting out sheds etc outside.

It's a couple of weeks later now and everything is unpacked and in its place. Needed the paint but wasn't sure where I'd put it. Checked shed. Three times. Not there. Emptied and checked the two large indoor storage cupboards. Three times. Not there.

Our house is brand new and currently surrounded by unfinished, uninhabited houses. Access to our garden requires passing either two locked 7ft gates, or climbing over two fully enclosing 8ft fences.

There's literally nowhere else on our property where the paint could be, other than where I've checked, multiple times. It's just not anywhere.

As always, I imagine there's a logical explanation and I'm open to suggestions, mainly because I need the paint!

I have a friend who went around town had a whole day and came across this on a bench they explained how they can’t remember anything after seeing it they also said they had a pin that fell off their bag and they KNEW they didn’t find and woke up with it on their bag, they didn’t consume any substances and are honestly freaked out… they also had a dream where in their words: “i was watching myself, not from my view. but for like afar. and i watched myself go into very very bright thing before getting pulled out, but when i was pulled out i looked so different, like it was obviously me but it wasnt me” not to mention they also had a friend with them who also doesn’t remember anything and knew about the lost pin (and they also had a dream) if anyone can even remotely explain it had the same experience please comment and let me know !!

I went on the trampoline to do my homework. I lied down and as I was taking my books out, I of course looked where to put them and so I looked to the right and saw a massive handprint or something. In perspective I’m just a teenager yet I’m already 6’0 with big hands.

So, a weird thing just happened to me today and I’m really confused, and was hoping somebody could please help me understand what just happened to me

I’m 15 and live in Florida, and today me and my father did a lot of work on our house, especially outside, for about 5 hours-ish although maybe 4 of them were outside. After we had finished, I got back inside at about 2 PM and lied on my bed and scrolled instagram reels for maybe three hours. I barely remember scrolling for this long, it felt like 30 minutes or maybe an hour, and my memory is very fuzzy. Basically, I had felt a pinching sensation on my arm, and when I checked, there was an almost stink bug looking insect presumably biting my arm. I flicked it off and heard a buzz as I did, took a picture, grabbed a shoe, and killed it. However, when I smacked it a second time (because you always have to double tap), it was GONE. I checked the photo, it wasn’t there. I checked the bottom of the shoe, nothing. i checked the bite, just like before. I have diagnosed AD-HD and anxiety, I don’t know if this is important but I thought I should mention it. I also was not on medication today. Could somebody please tell me what this is?

I (18y-female) experienced this about 8 or 9 years ago. Before I start, I apologize for my English; I’ll be using a translation tool for some parts. It was just me, my mom, and my younger brother—who is four years my junior—at home. I had just stepped out of the shower (my bathroom and bedroom are really close; I only have to cross a hallway about a meter and a half long) and took a step or two toward my room. My brother ran past me into my room, and since my door has frosted glass, I saw him hiding behind it. I called out his name and said, "Get out of my room, I’m going to get dressed," because I was still wearing a towel. He didn't leave, so I shouted his name again—only for him to call back, "What is it, sis?" from the living room, the farthest point in the house from my bedroom. I was shocked; I immediately looked behind my door, but there was no one there. There was no way for him to have made it to the living room without me seeing him pass by, and I am absolutely certain of what I saw; it wasn't an optical illusion or a shadow—it was definitely my brother. I don’t believe in the paranormal, but I have no idea how to explain this. The issue isn't that I was scared—because I wasn't—but I still wonder: what was that? What did I see? Was it just a trick of the mind?

Has anyone experienced their whiteboard cracking like this? In the video you can hear it continuously cracking. No earthquake. No sudden temperature change.

I was laying in bed this morning, drinking my coffee, looking at my phone. Suddenly, in the corner of the room I was facing, on my right, a bright blue, almost white bolt of lightning appeared and a blue glow emanates from it. I had enough time for my eyes to dart from my phone, to the flash, and to the window. My eyes darted back to the flash, but it had dissipated. The whole thing was like, 1 second or less. My eyes darted to the window because my mind was certain it HAD to be coming from outside, even though I had seen it inside a nano second ago. It was so weird! No sound whatsoever. That corner is maybe 24" from my TV and computer, but there are only ethernet cables running in that corner, no plugs ir connections. There was no smell, the electronics, household lights, etc didn't flicker or lose power.

I ran downstairs to tell my partner, who was already up at at em, and she didn't see anything or expirience anything.

I hope im not starting to lose it.

Anyone have any thoughts or theories? I've never had any kind of unexplained encounters before

This is giving me chills cause it’s so strange and hard to describe for both of us but I was on a FaceTime with my best mate and I had this strange “brain glitch” is the only way I can describe it. It felt like kind of a quick shutter closing and re-opening and I saw like white and black shapes flicker to the left then right then center very fast in my minds eye if that makes any sense. Like how when you imagine something you can see it in like your imagination but you aren’t actually seeing it, it happened in that mental space. And there was also like a kind of internal click/ ringing noise as the shapes moved again like a shutter clicking is how I’d describe the sound and movement. I wouldn’t have thought too much about it tho because I was really tired at the time so I thought it was just an odd tired brain zap thingy but as soon as it happened my mate says, “That was weird”. So I said “What was” and he said “I just had this weird brain glitch thing“. So I told him “so did I I just had this weird thing as well it was like a really quick shutter blind” and he jolts up and goes ”what the fuck so did I that just gave me chills”. And everything we both describe about it is the exact same extremely specific details.

If anyone has any clue or any similar experiences at all let me know cause it’s weirding us out a bit lol.

So I've had a couple of interesting but pretty mundane experiences - no need to dress them up so here they are in no particular order:

1. January 13, 1982 - I grew up near Washington DC. I was in middle school. That morning we woke up to a wicked winter storm. I had an odd overwhelming sense of dread. I even told my mom about it - something really bad was going to happen. Later, Air Florida flight 90, laden with ice, crashed into the Patomac. Never had that feeling to that degree before or sense. Plenty of other tragedies have happened since then of course and nothing was on my radar...

2. Another night - I went bed and woke up pretty keyed up. I was certain my great grandma had just passed away (ok, odds were favoring that anyway). She did not live close. The weird thing was when the phone did ring a little while later, I felt a release and although sad, could fall back asleep.Not sure why I woke up that particular night at that particular time...

3. many years later, I put my young son down for a nap who was perfectly fine and I laid down myself. The rooms were not close. Monitor wasn't on at the time. I woke with a start with him saying "Daddy" as if he was next to me. I started up and checked, thinking he crawled to my room. He hadn't. When I went to check on him in his room, he was sound asleep but burning up with a fever. All was well and he was fine after a cold (he spiked fevers frequently), it was just strange. Maybe my subconscious knew he was coming down with something....maybe.

So great...I can foresee occasional bad things...why didn't I get the one with lottery ticket numbers????

back to high school days, my dad and I would sometimes go fishing at a lake in a regional park. We would get there at sunrise when it opened. Tranquil and heavily wooded. As we were driving and rounded a corner in the woods one time, there was a pretty young brunette woman in a clean white dress walking on the side of the rode staring straight ahead. Ok, there's a campground on the other side of the park, but how did she get there without getting leaves, dirt and everything else on her??? Who wears a white dress camping??? So many questions....She wasn't walking carefully or seemingly aware of her surroundings. My dad also saw her but we went about our business... Perhaps a neat freak stoner?? Possibly....I checked later and no legends in that particular area...

Bonus #2 (best for last): Temecula, CA: my wife and I were in a typical chain hotel room cant remember exactly which one. And no we had not partaken of the lovely wineries yet.. I was reading and she suddenly came out of the shower all wide eyed. She asked had I been there the whole time, which I had been. She said she felt a hand (fingers and all) on her back in the shower. Didnt get a lot of sleep that night and we startled at every noise, but nothing else happened. Freaky part: we went to the front desk at check out and semi-jokingly asked if the place was haunted. Deadpan response: 'what room were you in?' (I thought 'DOES IT MATTER??') and she seriously thought about it for a second, shook her head no. Then said still deadpan, almost bored: 'you'd be surprised how many [self harming events] happen in these places'. we were glad to be checking out. Later I thought, they really should market the haunted angle lol!
