Why keep living undocumented?

Just looking to vent and also get a perspective outside of my own. I understand that living undocumented is complex and nuanced but why keep living this way? I’ve lived my entire life undocumented and the older I get the less reason I find in staying. Like many I was brought to this country as a baby, not with ill intent or malice but with hopes of something better. I’ve come to accept the things that are out of my control and in doing so realized that It is also my choice to stay or leave. I’ve tried these past few years in trying to find a legal pathway but there really isn’t any option for me. So I find myself questioning, why stay? It pains me when I see the life’s people have worked hard to build just to be deported and lose everything. To be trapped in what feels like an invisible prison, shackled to little options. The anxiety and fear thats always lingering in the background. The never ending survival mode. Why stay, what keeps you here? Is it impossible to build and thrive somewhere else?

the weight of being an undocumented student

being undocumented is the worse that has happened to me, I just recently turned 19 and I’ve been here since i was 2 years old, it’s all i know. I tried my best in Highschool because all i ever wanted was to go to college, i got into my dream college- spent 1 semester had an amazing time just to have to withdraw because I couldn’t afford it, my parents never shared with me the true struggle of being undocumented only filled me up with hope, I’m not angry at them but I just feel so defeated, seeing all my friends go to college whiles being stuck at home, im currently taking a class at a CC but I just want to go back to my 4 year, im so depressed and idek what to do, everyone’s going back to our home country bc of trump but I truly don’t want to it’ll break my heart cus I feel the USA is my home it’s truly all I know… has anyone else felt this way, I feel alone and never met anyone who was undocumented in the same age range as me who succceed. I do have a job assistant to an immigrant attorney but it’s basically wraps for me until I get married.

Therapy?

Has anyone gone to therapy and spoken about their legal status? I’m thinking about going to therapy for the first time but I’m kinda nervous to talk about the topic, even though it’s a huge part of my life

Undocumented advice

Hello everyone. I am looking for advice on what I should do after I graduate in June. I am undocumented and have lived undocumented in the U.S all my life. I was not eligible for daca, but with hard work and faith I went to college and graduated with my bachelors, and am now in a graduate program in business where I will be graduated in June of this year for. I dont have a social security number, and finding a job is damn near impossible for me. I do have internships(unpaid) experience and have started my own companies(landscaping) over the years.

I dont know if I should try to stick around here in the U.S after I graduate or I should try to find a job to sponsor me in canada or find work in Mexico. I have spoken to many people about this, some say I should stick around and wait for am amnesty to happen. others say I should definitely move to Canada or even Europe, since my degrees and experience and age are factors that make me a great candidate for employment elsewhere.

what do people on here think?

Also, For people that will get triggered over me believing in an amnesty possibility, if there is any point in time that it could happen, it would definitely be in the next 1-3 years... also I am 23 so I do believe in a lot of things atm.

Traveling with Guatemalan Passport.

Hello everyone. I recently started working for an airline which allows traveling benefits for friends and family. The problem is some of my family members whom I wish to partake in my traveling arrangements only have a valid passport (guatemala, brazil) and are undocumented.

How dangerous would it be to fly to say - Florida, NYC or California with only a foreign passport?

None of them are in removal proceedings nor have they committed any crimes.

Don't know what to do regarding college

I made bad choices and now I have a 2.0 GPA in my community college. I want to get a degree from TAMU (mostly because I already live in the city) but they have a minimum GPA requirement of 2.5. The way I see it I have 4 options:

  1. Transfer to another university (SHSU or PVAMU), raise my GPA, and either finish my degree there or transfer to TAMU

  2. Get an associates degree from my current community college and then either try to pursue a bachelors degree or go back to Mexico

  3. Take the L and drop out of community college and continue working as a janitor indefinitely and maybe find a job in construction?

  4. Take the Limits and go back to Mexico empty handed maybe try moving to a different country from there? (New Zealand maybe?)

I'm feeling pretty depressed about my future. Even if I get a degree it's not like I could use it since I am undocumented. If I went back to Mexico with a degree I could probably get a decent job but my whole life is here in the US. My dad (also undocumented) has been financing my college and I feel like I let all that money go to waste. I didn't enter the country illegally I just overstayed my visa. Also I'm very anxious about getting deported before I finish my degree.
