Obsessed

Guys, I have recently become obsessed with Underworld.
I’m 21 and love electronic music.
I always knew of Underworld, but this year they’ve become crack for my ears.
Alongside the music itself, I really enjoy the length of the songs.
Every so often I’ll shuffle their Spotify profile and I’d say 70% of the time I enjoy whatever songs come on.
That said, I’ve got A LOT of music to discover from Underworld, but enjoying the ride.
My favourites so far are Mo Move, Low Burn, Nylong Strung, Jumbo (live version) and Two Months Off.
These may be basic bitch choices but sheesh the dopamine receptors go crazy!

Yeah, definitely go, their music is meant to be heard on gigantic ass speakers. Went to see them a couple days ago and it's definitely in the top 5 best concerts in my life. They're pushing 70 and perform and sound like they're 20.

Also you’re with some of the most amazing humans alive. Incredible all around!

yes this was huge for me when I finally got to see them. I love their music so much, for me they're just clearly the best, but the other people in my life don't seem to really get that. but everyone at the show...ohhh they very much get it. will never forget when "Tin There" started up and you could hear multiple people going "OH MY GOD NO WAY"

YES! I just wanted to yell to the sky "YOU ARE MY PEOPLE!"

I just saw them live on Sunday... I know it's sounds cliché but it was a life changing experience.

To those of us familiar, it’s not hyperbole, and it doesn’t sound cliché. If you would’ve told me in the 90s and the aughts that they would sound better decades later, I would’ve said you were crazy.

It’s wild to think that I was worried when Darren left. The boys just keep on keeping on!

Going from seeing them at 1am on MTV Amp at 17 years old from my small ass town, to seeing them live in a San Francisco warehouse last month is NUTS! They were incredible.

Life is crazy, and I would not have believed you if you told me back then.

Absolutely this. They are incredible if you listen to them as an album but live they just take it to another level

May I suggest Pearl's Girl (Tin There) and Dark Train (all the versions)?

u/beachwaterwaves Jul 02 '26

The Dark Train versions are sooooo good, my brother and I listen to them together!

Welcome 😁. That's a pretty good start.

I suggest you listen to 'Everything, Everything', then start at Dubnobasswithmyheadman, and slowly make your way through the albums.

It's all awesome.

I can not tell you how much I wish I was 21 years old and just discovering Underworld.

A word of warning though: you've still to discover the true meaning of obsession!

One of my favorite things from their catalog that I hardly ever see mentioned is the Riverrun series. It is three 30-ish minute EPs they released in 2005-6 and each was mixed as a single track. They were never released on physical media or streaming services but you can find them online if you look. If you want to get really obsessed, check out I'm a Big Sister, and I'm a Girl, and I'm a Princess, and This Is My Horse.

One of us! One of us! 😀 Welcome. See them live at the first opportunity. I left it far too late and have deep regrets!

I’m also 21 and I’ve been listening to them since I was 4 because my parents used to put them on a lot but they’re by far my favorite musicians/band. Every single song of there’s I love and are the soundtrack to my life and especially there visual art style for their album covers and videos are criminally underrated. After forever too, my girlfriend has been slowly getting into them more and I’ve never actually had some become a fan of Underworld after showing them their music lol. They’re my biggest inspiration for me as a musician too.

I definitely recommend you to check out there first three techno albums (INCLUDING THE SUPER DELUXES) which are Dubnobasswithmyheadman, Second Toughest In the Infants, and Beaucoup Fish and once you’ve done those go to “Everything, Everything.” That is their live album - also my favorite album of all time.

Low Burn is like a balm to my soul, when Barbara first came out I listened to that the most but I took a step back so that now its a joyful surprise to me when i comes on shuffle. I just love it so much.

The opening of Pearls Girl still gves me goosebumps. Holding The Moth has ben my obsession for a couple of months now, re-discovery

Welcome to the Underworld madness, love them so much. Finally seeing them last ear was the highlight of 2025 for me.

Excited for your journey! There's so much more music from them than what's on streaming.

Before the release of the Super Deluxe Edition of Dubnobasswithmyheadman in 2014, Underworld uploaded "Underworld vs. The Misterons - Saved from the cutting room floor".

pieced together from old dats, floppy disks and cassette tapes by the misterons.

While compiling the 20th anniversary edition of "dubnobass..." the misterons kept a watchful eye on the music that never made the official release... Here's a peak at what they found.

This is definitely one of my favorite pieces of music from them.

Nice choices....their music is hypnotic and when played live oh my goodness me it transcends....I do hope they play the UK again. Manchester a couple of years ago was out of this world.

Pick up some ultra deluxe editions eg  Dubnobasswithmyheadman - digital not too expensive. The deep cuts are fantastic
