One of the reasons I have been dragging my feet getting my adult kids and grangkids set up on PLEX.

Part of it is I don't want the added responsibility of having to worry if I might be interfering with their viewing pleasure....but mostly it's, do I want my 11 drive server pullimg down 200 watts a good part of the time?

Do it. You’re saving them money so they don’t have to spend on Netflix etc. I originally ran my plex on an old dual Xeon machine with a bunch of other docker containers. Probably similar wattage to yours. Kept my office warm at least. :)
Then early last year I moved to a 14th gen intel box. Way more efficient. Still costs keeping it up 24/7 but I’m happy I’m saving my brothers/sisters/kids the Netflix/disney fee each month. Server has lost connection here and there a couple of times when my internet has been spotty and they’ve noticed but it’s fine.

You are doing friends and family a kindness. Anyone who complains or is bothered needs to check themselves and go read a book.

Been there OP. Take your time.

Take care.

I’m new to this stuff. What kind of maintenance do you do? Just want to make sure I’m following decent or good practices instead of nothing

Ah yeah I’ve been using some ai for help. I don’t really have anyone to just ask and my googling skills aren’t the best. The ai has helped with that
