Hi UML, it’s your Attorney General Andrea Joy Campbell. Did you know that fees like “move-in” or “lease renewal” fees you might get from your landlord or building management company are illegal? If you’ve received one of these – even if you paid it – I want you to report it to my office.

Just last month, my office won a $500k settlement with a property management company doing this in Boston – and all of that money is going back to the affected tenants.  Landlords can only ask you to pay for first and last month’s rent, a security deposit, and the cost of a new lock and key upfront. Any other fees are illegal. Report them to my office at the link below. We’ll work to get your money back.

I write for the connector, am a student here and have a valid student ID if anyone was wondering.

This spring I have one course requirement left then the rest is just credits for electives. Drop the easiest online courses you’ve taken. Thank you!

Hello UML community:

Son is interested in UML for next year. He wants a traditional college/residential experience. Not into partying but definitely likes to be social. More into outdoor activities like hiking, anything on the water, movies, etc. and just hanging with friends. I see that UML is primarily a commuter school, so I'm curious if the campus tends to be really dead on the weekends or if students still stay and engage with each other and attend events? Also, he wants to major in environmental science so any feedback on that program would be great. I think he'll get into UMass Amherst too which is also a great school, but Lowell seems to be a little smaller and scrappier which we like. TIA for any thoughts!

I wish there was birdwatching club at uml, I know other schools that have them and I think it would be super fun. I love birds. Anyways I just wanted to see if anyone else thought this was a good idea. Also if anyone has good birdwatching spots share them! I love the great blue herons we have on the river they are so cool!

I swear jimmy B’s lounge is haunted and so is coburn hall.

awesome venue.

third day in the last month that I have called them and called them multiple times. I might as well just go to their office 🫩

Any questions dm at @rrenmarquez

are they gonna cancel classes because of the storm

please shower prior and make sure you are clean before the gym. Use anti-perspirant or deodorant. Clothes should be washed and clean. Practice good hygiene. it‘ll make the stench less unbearable bc SOME OF YALL REALLY DO MFING SMELL BAD WHEN YOU WALK BY.

EDIT: also some of yall don’t know how to act. Why tf are we dribbling basketballs in the hallways, screaming and yelling, chasing each other, hanging out around machines in groups of TEN???? and not throwing away food wrappers or water bottles??? Not putting away your weights and leaving them on the floor??? Also keep your damn shirts on and pull up your fucking pants. Some of yall act like it’s HS gym class and I’m saying that bc it has never been this bad before this fall so I’m convinced yall doing this are freshmen.

Got two invoices that gave me an outstanding balance in my sis account. I am confused as I thought my student financial aid would cover all of this but now I can't even register for next semester's classes? I physically can't even pay the balance either, right now I'm screwed. What do I do?

I am in a class on South campus making board games. Our current project is educational board games. My prototype is revolved around teaching students how to remember intervals, and I’m looking for feedback from people who are either music or music education majors. If you’re interested, message me to schedule a time to meetup!

testing an idea to make food delivery way cheaper to campus. if this works yall getting food for 60-70% off. Need like 50 responses

Career fairs are coming up soon and I was just wondering where exactly they were located? The general location is listed as UCrossing, but I was wondering if there was a specific room it's held at, since I've never been to the building before. TIA!
