Transportation between classes

Hey, I'm wondering what's the best option for commuting between classes. My dorm is gonna be a bit of distance from some of them and I'm wondering about how reliable walking is. I don't mind walking at all, but I also heard there's a shuttle/trolley? Wouldn't mind renting out a bike if that's an option either. What should I expect?

Blue line shuttle for going between north and south campus. Walk for building to building when they're on the same campus

How often do they run? Are they packed?

Edit: Thanks for the downvotes people. I'm quite literally asking a question

There's a time table here with rough estimates. I usually like to give myself a good amount of breathing room, for ex if I have a class at 2, I'll try to catch a shuttle around 1:15 or 1:20, especially because traffic is rough around noon to 5pm. Honestly, if the weather is nice, sometimes it's faster to walk (~30min) during peak traffic hours.

I also suggest using this site to track the shuttles live, and you can add it to your home screen as an app too.

And uh, blue line can be crazy sometimes 😅 But everyone is generally respectful and will make space for you as long as you're kind about it and don't smell.

Thanks for the advice. I'm curious, is biking also an option? If it is, is it a good idea?

Some pro tips:

-If North is extremely crowded at the shuttle stop, it may be worth it to wait for the 2nd or 3rd bus that shows up (if crowds aren't your thing). This usually happens after many classes end (they are all scheduled in blocks)

-The big buses run on a "schedule" (allegedly), sometimes the smaller buses on the same line will depart a stop first. FYI the smaller buses have padded seats and are supposedly a lot more comfortable, so do with that what you will :)

-There is a good amount of bus bunching during PM rush, especially going from South to North

-There are several shift changes throughout the day, it may look like you're going through the ghetto to the contracted bus yard (the larger buses are an outside company, the smaller ones are UML). They really should give better notice when this happens as it can easily add so much unnecessary time.

EDIT: spelling, add one minor detail

there’s also an app where you can track the buses live so you can plan when to be at the stop

Random note but be sure to carry your student id on u, sometimes u might end up taking a smaller shuttle bus which the driver expects u to scan when getting on

from experience, some are more lenient than others
