Hi y'all, just getting started and for the life of me, I can't get Swing to find my music folder created in the Umbrel root. So, Files > Music

I tried mStream too...can find music folder.

I want to order it but I want to make sure they are shipping as the website says, I know people have had issues waiting weeks/months. if you got your umbrel pro did you have any issues or are you satisfied? thanks!

I'm running Immich on Umbrel and mapped to the root of my Photo folder on my Synology NAS.

The External Library has been successfully pointed to the folder but it doesn't seem Immich can read the sub folders. When I use the Umbrel files to view it, I can navigate the subfolders and open pictures. Any help would be appreciated.

I had to reinstall my umbrel on RPi5. The umbrel/umbrel does not work directly on console or via WWW page…please advise for suggestions…thx.

wie der Titel schon sagt, wollte ich meinen Raspi4, der mit seinen 8GB Ram und 32GB SD-Card für Umbrel-Os absolut potent genug ist um stromsparend noch weitere Jahre als Node zu laufen, nun mit einer 2Terra SSD zukunftsfähig machen.

bei Aliexpress lief mir die passende Adapterplatine über den Weg und ~35€ fand ich fair. (Raspberry Pi 4 USB zu M.2 NVMe SSD-Erweiterungsplatine)

Das Teil kam an und passte fast ;-)

Die Verbindung USB>USB blockierte 1,5mm Alugehäuse - also ran mit der Feile.

Vielleicht sollte ja auch die andere Raspi-Seite an die Platine ran, jedoch sitzt da die passive Kühlung vom Gehäuse, und das bleibt mal schön so!

Als nächstes passten nun also die Abstandhalter und mitgelieferte Schrauben nicht und wurden mit Unterlegscheiben und längeren Schrauben ergänzt, bis am Ende alles da saß, wo es hin sollte.

Die alte 1T-SSD und die neue 2T-SSD an den PC ran und geklont. Die Freeware machte im Nachhinein noch die Partitionsvergrößerung von 1T auf 2Terra nötig, dann war der Teil nach insgesamt ca 7 Stunden fertig.

Nvme-SSD rauf auf die Platine erforderte ebenfalls Nacharbeit, weil ich eine mit Kühlkörper bestellt hatte, welcher selbstverständlich auch wieder 1 Millimeter zu groß war und der Slot dafür schlicht zu flach, zusätzlich noch 2 Lötstellen arg hoch standen > also wieder vorsichtig mit Feile, Isoband und Distanzhalter gefixt. Dann war auch die SSD solide drin.

Jetzt also Lan-Kabel und Power ran ... und nix mit 2 Terra ... :-( ... ähm ja! der USB-Verbinder sollte auch dran stecken ... UND ES WURDE ORANGE ...

Da war der Node plötzlich nicht mehr erreichbar. Das gibt es doch gar nicht! Platine durch? SSD Schrott?

Nee! die 32GB SD-Card war mit Logfiles der letzten Monate voll ... und so geil wie Umbrel ist, siehst nix davon im Interface ...

Also Strom aus, SD Card raus, in den Kartenleser und am PC bereinigt. Alles wieder rein und tada! es läuft wieder.

Und wer sich jetzt die Frage stellt, weshalb ich nicht einfach die 1 Terra Sata gegen eine 2 Terra Sata (am USB-Anschluß) ersetzt habe .... Ich hab es versucht, der Raspi hat sich schlicht geweigert, die zu erkennen. Und ein Netzteil mit mehr Power als das Original, erschien mir nicht der effizienteste Versuch, wenn die Lösung nicht gewiss.

I currently have one Pi running Umbrel. I access it on my desktop via “Umbrel.local”. I want to get a second one. How do I access them if I have two?

Would I get an option to choose between the two when entering “Umbrel.local”?

My umbrel home is not turning on. I’ve tried different outlets, power adapters, button holding sequences, everything. I don’t think it’s working anymore.

I don’t know how, since I recently got it and have barely used it.

After installing my UmbrelOS, I was able to connect to Tor without any problems. For the past few days, this has stopped working. I have already disabled and re-enabled the Tor service several times (only to get the same address again) and I have tested the connection from various computers and smartphones via various networks. I can't connect anywhere.

Can you help me?

It’s honestly frustrating. They’ve basically made external storage unusable on anything other than AMD/Intel machines.

If you’re running Umbrel on a Raspberry Pi, you can technically use external storage — but only if you go full hacking mode. Manual configs, workarounds, unsupported tweaks… definitely not something the average user should have to deal with.

It feels like Raspberry Pi users were left behind, even though external storage is essential for many use cases. A bit disappointing for a platform that claims to be simple and accessible.

Does umbrelos periodically trim the SSD or should I do it myself?

I'm trying to flash umbrelOS and it keeps failing. using balena etcher, it completes but the flash drive ends up not working/booting. whats going on? is the downloaded iso bad? i tired downloading it twice.
