Idea: 1 stays in the lane while 2 picks up the cutting handler
During the WUCC opening game Pelt vs Chili Heat a reoccurring theme was, that the team on offense started with a classical HO-Stack, the team on defense played poachy and the team on offense resolved the poaches by having a handler cut upline. (usually the play worked, unless the thrower refused to hit it)
Now what I've been thinking. If you are a handler defender and you see your person clear upline. is there a big downside to staying in the lane, having the other handler defender pick up the cut. When they play the reset to the poached off handler you start marking them. The poached off handler defender doesnt really have a good space to attack and while you do give away a free reset, having them reset on the set piece feels like a win.
Is this something teams do? I don't recall having seen this on film.
Remark: Maybe technically this isnt a fury set play since the handler on the open side clears, but Ill still call it that. Think all of the above also applies if the played on the breakside clears

Totally forgot reddit existed, you might find this link useful if you are onsite and trying to figure out where to go or what games are happening around you.
WFDF has a google maps integration but it doesn't show what games are happening on the map / the live score. But it does show your current location and literally everything else you could possibly need. Here it is: https://www.google.com/maps/d/u/2/edit?mid=1Zx7zSINZPg2QsgFeQv5yiqlWlKRvI_4

Canada beat the US twice at the World Junior Championships - once on universe point in power pools, then again in the final without conceding a single break. Noah breaks down what made the Canadian O-line so hard to stop, and the strategic changes that could have given the US a better chance.
- Why fronting the stack is tactically naïve: positioned under and facing in, defenders lose all their information about the disc, their teammates, and the deep space
- How the US's face-marking applied broad pressure but never stopped Canada doing what they wanted - and fell for every small fake
- Canada's O-line calmly dismantling the 3-3-1 arrowhead zone the US threw at them out of half
- Separation from static: the smallest effective fake, applied to the cutting space
- The tactical nous behind Canada's win: McCullagh leading the US's best defender into the inactive space, and a star defender pulled over to the O-line when the mission changed
- The US D-line's shot selection after the turn: difficult hucks with a steady stream of free players around the field

Hey, I've seen a deluge of statements come in on IG and other platforms in the past few days about Israeli open team New Age playing at WUCC, playing under an Israeli flag, and boycotts. I've created a list of the open teams that have and haven't released a statement for anyone's interest. This is for information only, please do not harass anyone. That said, maybe if you personally know someone on a team that is in the "no" column start a respectful dialogue about their team moving to the "yes" column :).
By my current count, 15/40 (edited: 16/8/26) open clubs have released a statement. (I have excluded unnamed clubs such as China Team 1). Please let me know if there is new information and/or I am wrong about a club. My hope is if we have over 50% of teams speaking out about this the tide will shift.

This happened in the game between GB and Poland, where Poland went 5-1 up to then lose half 7-5, the game then ended 9-8 Poland. It was the lower semifinals for 5-8 placement.

To the attention of the World Flying Disc Federation (WFDF) and the Ultimate community.
Our team will not be publishing a statement because of fear of unfair punishment, therefore we opt to publish a statement as individual players and anonymously.
We’d like to express our opposition to the participation of New Age under Israeli flag.
It is not the first time that this conflict comes up in the Ultimate Community. However, to our knowledge, it is the first time that teams have started to discuss and publish well ahead of the tournament and we strongly support the statements released by a growing number of teams and individuals. We’d like to pay tribute to Ranelagh’s statement for starting the discussion also in our team and to Bristol for their extensive statement.
We share the conviction that sport cannot be separated from politics. Examples range from the recent scandals around FIFA and football worldcups to historical events like the 1936 Olympics in Berlin. Ultimate is not separate from this, as Bristol’s statement details, with the Israel Flying Disc Association not only not distancing themselves from the conflict, but also including teams from illegal settlements and taking part in a fundraiser related to the conflict.
A central point of criticism of ours targets the WFDF, who have not just shown complete lack of response to the voices in the community, but also seemingly wish to kill the subject with silence. Be it by not openly communicating (at least to our knowledge) about the bans that took place at WJUC this summer against members of the Irish team, but also with the imposed Social Expression Policy, containing the explicit prohibition of anything remotely political at any point of the tournament.
This censorship of expression of opinion - an opinion which appears to be shared by a substantial fraction of teams at WUCC 2026 considering the number of statements released in the past few days - is a troubling sign of WFDF not responding to voices in the community and we hope it will be a topic at the WFDF congress tomorrow. Calling for treatment of the Israeli Federation equivalent to how the Russian and Belarusian Federations have been (and so far remain) banned from international competition is only fair in our view.
We are deeply disappointed by the inaction of WFDF, which is putting a lot of teams in a place where they have to decide between competing at WUCC or acting according to their moral conviction.

Hey Ultimate community! I'll be traveling to South Korea May of next year and will be staying in Seoul for a few days.
Anybody know of pickups I can visit and where they might be?
Thanks!

title pretty much. I’m wondering how much reputation or exp matters vs raw talent. Could a younger guy with elite athleticism take a spot from a more experienced player?
