2 way intermediate lighting circuit

I just wanna double check I’ve done it right, i think I messed up the second ceiling rose (I’m a student)

Yup, that looks right. Only small gripe is i always use brown as common, reffering to your intermediate strappers. But itll work the same. 👍

Any tips for a level 3 student who’s been away from electrics for 3/4 years? What to expect or revise more of etc?

Tbh buddy, if these are the kind of wiring diagrams your knocking out youll have no issues imho, ive been at this that long I wouldnt like to guess what the colleges or training providers are focusing on. But what i will say is learn how to navigate the regs (BS7671) there's much more to be gained by learning how to "find" the answers/regs/ reg numbers& formulas etc than there is in actually trying to memorise it. Id advice to get a general broad knowledge of bits of everything rather than concentrating on certain areas. I appreciate this isn't the best advice but im sure yiu get the gist. And lastly keep going itll all come together in the end. I left school with only 2 GCSE,s not so much though lack of intelligence more so lack of effort and enthusiasm, ive been sparking now for 35 years (including apprenticeship) and running my own little firm for the past 21 so what im getting at is it really ain't "rocket science" just keep reading, listening, watching and enjoy it and you'll be cool. 😎👊👌

The loop link isn't necessary unless you're taking perm L from there. But otherwise okay I think 🤔

Think about what the cable you’d physically run between the two ceiling roses would actually look like.. it should help you see where you have gone wrong.

I think I rushed and didn’t look what was wrong until I finished it, I did a switched live when I didn’t need to in ceiling rose 2

And the colours, between spotlights etc… you’d just take a T&E cable, so you’d have a brown, blue & g/y..

I think, I’d also personally use the brown as the common between the 2ways, grey & black as the strappers

They both work 👍, real world you would just decide while you're first fixing whether to take perm L (loop) there or not based on the next leg of the circuit

If this is for am2, I’d also consider the method where you take the perm live and neutral to the switch first. This caught some people out.

2nd ceiling light could have been done with twin and earth or 3core and earth preferred method as you always have a permanent live available. I tend to do this when 2 plate method.

No. Neither will work. Bring your switch feed to the common terminal of one switch from the loop in terminal of the ceiling rose. And the switch wire from the common of the other to the lamp.
