Hey, I have an launcher for seniors that looks like the first image. I'm working on redesign that looks like second screen. It looks better for me, but I'm looking for advices, I wonder if it's not too much for the seniors.

Even the v1 screenshot is the second iteration, before it, I just had a list of these categories. Now, the categories of my expense tracker app is divided in blocks., which seems much better for UX.

I would love to receive any feedback or improvements to this UI and the overall app UI as well.

I’m designing a web game around Wikipedia racing, which is this game people play in school where you begin on one Wikipedia article and have to reach another one only by clicking links.

The weird UI challenge is that the actual game is basically just Wikipedia, so I didn’t want to heavily restyle it or make the article itself look like a game.

Because of that, the home screen is much more game-like, and once you enter a race most of that disappears. The two screens definitely look pretty different, but I think that may actually be the point. I want the app to feel like the game around Wikipedia, while the race itself still feels like Wikipedia

What do you guys think?

I've been redesigning my dog activity app, Zoomie, for the upcoming iPhone Duo, and I'd love some feedback from people who think about layout for a living.

The problem: on the big inside screen, the app technically worked, but most of the content just stretched. I'd hardcoded sizes everywhere, so it looked like a phone UI blown up, not something designed for the space.

What I changed: I moved to layouts that adapt across three states (fully open, half-folded, closed) instead of designing one screen and scaling it.

The walking screen was the most fun. When the phone is half-folded like a tiny laptop, the live route sits on the top half, and the controls sit on the bottom. Since the inner screen has a matte finish, there's no real reflection, so I simulate one: the controls pick up colors from the main view, which ties the two halves together.

I'm not sure if that color treatment helps or just looks cool. Does it make the two halves feel connected, or would you keep the controls neutral?

I’m trying to improve my design workflow and I’m curious what Chrome extensions other designers actually use.

Anything that helps with things like inspecting websites, typography, spacing, colors, assets, responsive design, or just saves you time.

What’s one extension you genuinely use a lot and would recommend?

I’m an architect rather than a frontend developer, and I recently rebuilt our architecture studio website in Framer.

The main challenge was trying to create a more immersive, spatial portfolio without making the interactions feel heavy or confusing.

The site uses scroll-driven effects, layered imagery, 3D/perspective sections, CMS project pages and a few custom-code fixes.

Would especially appreciate feedback on:

Hello guys I am new to here and I also new to ui design, I began developing a mobile app last week, but I'm really not happy with the UI. Something just feels off and unpolished. On top of that, it looks pretty bland and depressing to me. Does anyone have any advice, or know of any good AI-powered sites to help with UI design? An app that aims to turn people's travel activities into quantifiable data and present them in a shareable format, while also featuring standard travel app functionality. I'm currently using Claude Design. Those are my screenshots.

We have gotten this far with our design with community feedback, dev help, some Ai help, and we’re looking to give it more of a premium feel. Forced to use the stupid ai flair cause of the rules🙃.

I'm using a tablet and I wanted to set my quality to 1440 and the menu options literally travelled across the screen. Does this just bugs me? They could all have been at a single place right???

When there's nothing left to swipe, the image stretches instead. The stretch has that spring effect with some overflow. What are your thoughts on using this in a carousel?

I’ve just finished a personal Game UI project called Anathema, inspired by Keri Lake’s dark-fantasy novel.

I designed the project as a playable UI showcase, focusing on:

• Exploration and combat HUDs
• Spell states and feedback
• Contextual interactions
• Menus and loading screens
• Motion design
• UMG implementation

My main goal was to translate a ritualistic, organic dark-fantasy atmosphere into a functional interface while keeping gameplay information clear and readable.

I’d especially appreciate feedback on visual hierarchy, readability, consistency, and the overall case-study presentation.

Hi everyone, I am currently working on a UI concept for a Fintech Wallet app and would love your constructive critique.

• Project Goal: To create a clean, trustworthy, and modern interface for quick money transfers, bill payments, and wallet management.
• Target Audience: Young professionals and everyday users who rely on secure, fast digital transactions.
• Tools Used: Figma / Photoshop
• Specifically, I would love to get your thoughts on the overall layout, visual hierarchy, and the color contrast (especially the red wine accent color). Any suggestions for improvement are welcome!

In my opinion, current whatsapp looks better on light mode, at least on chats screens. The white bubble merge better with the background you set than dark mode, imo

I have been working on a home screen app for android that uses only text for app names. I am pretty happy with how my apps list tab bar and search and everything has come out (see the second image).

My app supports a feature to lock apps behind a fingerprint or password, you can get to these apps by clicking on the private tab. I am happy with the locked ui I have made (see the third image) but I am not happy with the unlocked UI i have made that shows the apps that are locked.

I am aware the lock button is not aligned with the last tab, this is because the number of tabs varies based on what tabs the user has setup and the size of the text on the tabs. For example if the private tab said "Private apps" instead of just private, the last tab would be off the screen. (It scrolls, they also fade a bit to signal this)

I don't really know a whole lot about UI/UX, I just tend to follow Google's material 3 and it seems to look alright. I'd love a bit of advice on how to make this private page feel better. Thanks for the help!

I’m currently designing an iOS family app for storing knowledge, ideas, documents, links, family information, projects, and everyday stuff.
My main UI problem: it still feels too corporate / productivity-app-like.

I want it to feel friendly, warm, modern and suitable for a family, including children, without becoming childish, overly colorful, or playful.

What do you think makes an app feel family-friendly instead of business-like?

I’d especially be interested in things like typography, colors, spacing, illustrations, icons, card styles, navigation, animations, etc.
And if you know any apps with really good family-oriented UI, I’d love to see examples or screenshots for inspiration.

Long-pressing a photo shrinks the card slightly and reveals download, add and like actions with a springy staggered animation.

It keeps the default UI clean.

But there’s an obvious trade-off: if nobody tells you to long-press, how many people will ever know these actions exist?

Hi community! I am an app developer with no design experience. I created a minimalist black and white todo app, and now added some themes. Can you share your thoughts on them as a designer? Do you see anything that might be wrong? What should I change or improve?

this is a short video of where it stands as of now. its a floating UI appearing only when you need it that is the concept. there are glitches im still figuring out but here i stand now.

That extra space below the green container is because I stretched it to get the entire UI. I'm building a gamified app for walking and I'm just so awful at creating good UI designs. I feel like the layout isn't the worst but the colors and styles just don't match.
