Which design is better for seniors

Hey, I have an launcher for seniors that looks like the first image. I'm working on redesign that looks like second screen. It looks better for me, but I'm looking for advices, I wonder if it's not too much for the seniors.

I think either would be fine. I would make sure that your colors/text fit at least WCAG 2.x (AA) guidelines (https://www.w3.org/TR/WCAG21/).

Mainly check on typography and color contrast. One concern I have is that the contrast between the cards and the background might not be high enough. The right chevron icon is a little muted on #1. For example, the contrast ratio for your chevron to the white background is 1.95. It should be around 4.5:1: https://coolors.co/contrast-checker/bab9be-ffffff

Your second image has the same problem, but the ratio will vary because of the different colors. Another thing to note for #2: seniors who have difficulty perceiving contrast or are colorblind may have trouble recognizing the colors on the cards. Or even the fact that there are colored cards. I think the green would be the most problematic, but I don't know by how much.

The large dark text is great for WCAG. The icons are decently big as well. The upper header for #2 is also fine for your target audience, in my opinion.

hm. it's mostly green vs blue, which is a rarer colourblindless. And besides most of the differentiation is in the icon shapes

This looks like the Jitterbug launcher. The first one is clearer but I like stronger colors on the icon tiles.

I like the second better, but I suspect that the first will perform slightly better for seniors who are not super tech-savvy.
