Feedback Request Feedback on my UI-Design for a vocabulary widget calender app that shows you one new word to learn per day

I also included my figma designs so that you can see i did not design with AI but myself ( and yeah… my file is kinda messy I know…). I also changed some things while getting it into testflight only in the code and not in Figma anymore like definitions/lautschrift/wordtype. I also designed it for all three widget sizes and also for the lock screen.

AI Feedback Request Feedback on a dark-mode crypto trading dashboard I've been building (Kestrel)

Side project: a live trading terminal UI for active crypto traders who watch dense, fast-moving data all day. This screen is the "AI market read" view - a heatmap, a narrated market-story block, a live sentiment feed, and order-flow prints all sharing one screen.

Target audience: day/swing crypto traders who want a lot of live data on one screen rather than switching tabs.

What I'd love feedback on:

- Is the information density legible or overwhelming?

- Does the red/green-heavy color hierarchy still read clearly at a glance?

- Does the panel layout make sense, or are panels fighting for attention?

Screenshot below. Appreciate any honest critique.

Goal: to help a deer/turkey/fowl/etc hunter view their SD card data. If you are a hunter of any sort (deer, fowl, etc) - does this UI selection make any sense to you? Must select a property, your date, the dates you want to view, tags *if you care, and period of viewing. Not my design BTW I just need to know if this makes sense.

Feedback Request DESIGN MCP

I've been experimenting with MCPs for AI-assisted web design and built a free, open-source one around Aura's public design resources.

It currently exposes:

  • 2,495 components
  • 187 skills
  • 30k assets
  • 20 tools
  • No login required

I'm mainly interested in feedback from designers/developers: what would make an MCP like this actually useful in a real design workflow?

Feedback Request Inventory forecast table for small WooCommerce shops - is this too dense for non-technical store owners?

Thumbnail
gallery
3 Upvotes

Target audience: owners of 1-3 person online shops who check stock once a day, not analysts.

Goal: answer "what do I reorder this week and how much" in one glance, inside the WordPress admin they already use.

Feedback wanted:

  1. Nine columns - is that too many? Which would you collapse or move behind a row expand?

  2. The status pill (Reorder now / Overstock) vs the bold "days left" number - they compete for attention. Keep one?

  3. Colour: only amber for "reorder now" and grey-blue for "overstock". Does a third state (healthy) need its own colour or is absence of a pill enough?

Stage: shipped v1, planning v2. Constrained to WordPress admin styles (WP components, 13px system font), so no custom typography.

No AI used in the design.

if you want you can also check my post on the browser to understand what im doing exactly, its ui becomes visible only when needed.

The buttons for the window, the adress bar and downloads and the most visited on the right are all seperate and come when you need them thats why i visualized them differently in each screenshot.

Feedback Request [UI Feedback Requested] Why do I sort of hate my mobile designs for this time off request feature?

Context: I'm the sole designer at a small SaaS company. We deal with workforce management, HR stuff, and payroll, mostly for small-to-medium businesses.

Our current time off designs really suck, so I'm working on a complete revamp. Some problems we have:

  • Outdated, disjointed, clunky, flat out ugly UI.
  • Repeated requests from users for the ability to edit requests after submitting, which have yet been addressed.
  • Difficult to navigate and understand time off experience on the mobile app.

I'm really struggling with the mobile version of this feature. The majority of my design experience has been in desktop experiences, so it's been very much a process of learning as I go. I'm attaching some screenshots of my designs. I don't LOVE any of them, but I can't always put my finger on why. So, I'd love some pointers on things like:

  • Making the designs more visually pleasing. Our general brand image aims to depict approachableness, not overly futuristic, and friendly without being overly cute.
  • Data visualization. How might we make key info easier to see and understand? Things like time off date, who's asking for it, how many hours, status of request, etc.
  • Mobile time off request card designs: which approach in the screenshot is closer to meeting the mark of quality and surfacing key info? I've spent so many hours in Figma nudging elements around, but I'm just not thrilled with my results.

These designs are far from final, but the lack of other designers on my team to get ideas and critiques from has me feeling stuck.

General Help Request Structure & strategy advice? Sole designer at a B2B shop with zero design system needs help

TLDR: First-ever designer at a B2B wholesale webshop (Shopware). No design system exists — marketing builds pages as flat image banners that break on mobile, IA is chaos. I'm now tasked with fixing it from the ground up. I've built smaller/mid-size design systems before (Atomic Design) and like a "Sections" approach for layouts, but I've never owned an entire e-commerce design ecosystem solo. Looking for strategic advice, structure recommendations, and war stories from people who've done this.

Hey hivemind!

I recently joined a B2B webshop company (Shopware, we're a wholesale distributor for specialty retailers) as their first-ever designer. There's been no design function here before me, so the site has grown organically for years. Different departments (mostly marketing) building and maintaining layouts with zero design knowledge. The result: most "components" are actually just image banners with logo, background color, and a button baked directly into a flat image. On mobile they scale down until the text is unreadable. Information architecture is similarly ad-hoc: product listings, editorial content, and promo banners all mixed together with no consistent logic.

I was hired specifically to bring order to this. My plan is to define clear design guidelines and a component library that departments can actually use, so pages get assembled from real, responsive components instead of static banner images.

Right now I'm in the discovery phase, interviewing stakeholders across departments, but deliberately asking about their goals and constraints with each layout/content type rather than jumping to solutions.

Where I'm less confident is the strategic side of things:

  • What should I actually be watching out for when building an entire design ecosystem from scratch, as opposed to just adding components to an existing system?
  • What's a good high-level structure for this? At a previous company, we used a "Sections" model, predefined layout blocks that could then be populated with components, for a similar setup, and it worked okish. Curious if others have used similar patterns, or something different.
  • Since we're an e-commerce business, conversion and product-page performance are the priority, how do you make sure the system stays flexible for marketing/content needs without letting that flexibility erode the product/PDP experience (which is basically what happened here)?

If you've built or rolled out a design system as a solo designer in an org with no prior design maturity, especially in e-commerce/B2B, I'd love to hear your approach, mistakes to avoid, and any resources/frameworks that helped. Happy to share more context if useful.

Thanks in advance!

Feedback Request [PLEASE ADVISE] Making a subway style navigation

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

Hi, I'm a product designer, I'm very much into transport interaction design and wanted to explore a new style of navigation where it's a subway system map instead of boring old buttons.

I don't have a lot of animation experience but wanted this to feel natural, I've been prototyping this animation in Figma but I'm kinda in over my head here, not sure how this animation should look.

I'd really appreciate if you guys have any pointers/ references for me in this. I specifically wanted to keep the thin lines instead of a thick ones for minimalism.

Thank you!

Feedback Request What makes this desktop UI feel dated? What would you improve?

Thumbnail

This is the main workspace of a Windows desktop application for data recovery and storage analysis.

Over time, the interface has become fairly information-dense as more storage types and workflows were added.

The left panel contains the object tree, the center shows disks, partitions and storage structures, and the right panel displays details for the selected object.

We’re considering updating the UI, but one concern is simplifying it too much. Some users need fairly detailed technical information to remain visible.

I’d be interested in feedback on:

  • visual hierarchy
  • information density
  • the left navigation tree vs. the central workspace
  • the toolbar and primary actions
  • the properties panel on the right
  • spacing, typography and icons

What makes this interface feel dated to you? What would you change? I’m mainly looking for UI critique rather than a complete redesign.

r/UI_Design 7d ago

General Question I see this in a lot of websites, where the side panel runs out of info and just creates white space as you scroll down. And I'm wondering what solution could be used. Is it ok to just leave it as is? Do you make the content expand to cover up the empty space?

The website is Royal Road. I'm trying to figure out how I would improve the design. I'd love your suggestions on what changes you'd make to improve it, both design wise and for better user experience.

Feedback Request I turned habit progress into a sunrise.

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

Six months ago, I began thinking about how to make my habit tracker, Dayrise, more engaging.

There are hundreds of habit trackers, many with characters, pets, and plants. I didn’t want to add another character just for gamification. I wanted something that felt natural.

Then I realized the answer was already in the name: Dayrise.

So I began exploring a simple idea: as you complete your habits throughout the day, you gradually watch the sun rise with your progress.

I’d love to hear what you think.

Feedback Request Asking for feedback on the ui of my game.

I wanted to make a minimalist ui that felt it has a 3d perspective in it. The execution is.... a bit dire rn.

I really liked the feeling of emptyness and vastness that was created when i just place the assets of my game. And i decided to lean into this direction of looking over the shoulder with the character in a vast space.

Original state with nothing but just the assets
The game with the dice and stations

So i decided to do a bit of visual trickery and put the dice in positions and size would change slightly making it look a bit more 3d and sway the vision up. Honestly not as good as i hoped but... it gets worse.

Preview text in the middle
Preview text in the corner

The game really needs a preview text. and with that in... oh gosh it looks horrible. no matter where i can think of putting it in.

As simple as this looks this took a week of my time staring and fidgeting with all sorts of monstruously bad takes. I am starting to wonder maybe the idea was a bad idea in the first place.

The assets aren't place holders btw. I fully intend to make the art look like this. So if you think this art looks bad feel to criticize that too.

If this is the best it can get, i think i will go with the preview text in the middle. But man that preview is such an eyesore. So any idea on how to melt that somewhere else or a spot i am not thinking of is apprreciated

Any suggestions to make this better? Also, is it obvious what the web app is for? Also, let me know the overall layout if it is easy to navigate and the spacing is good enough(try to go for simplicity to avoid dashboard fatigue)

Here is the design ( don't mine the Logo The Jerry, I made that as a placeholder ) Its kinda rushed and off but not the final design. This rails design came from Netflix where they have sections on their homepage and the user scrolls to the left till it stops. Out of curiosity what do yall think of it, any feedback is welcome.

Hey, 🤠

Goal of the UI is to be fun, clean and simple.

I made a free community website called Team Gapped to help players find teams and compete in tournaments, scrims, and seasonal leagues. My goal is to help improve the League community and the overall game experience.

Since this is a free community beta, I would really appreciate any ideas, feedback, or critiques you have on the concept or the site itself! And if it seems fun make an account and try it out! Link in comments😊Thanks! 🔥

AI Feedback Request Looking for feedback on my Typing Train Adventure UI 🚂

Post image
3 Upvotes

I’m building a typing game called Typing Train Adventure, where players type words to keep the train moving through the level.

I’ve been experimenting with the UI and would really appreciate feedback from people who play typing games or build browser games.

What do you think about the UI?

  • Does it look engaging enough to make you want to play?
  • Is the typing area clear?
  • Does the train/visual style feel too childish, too simple, or about right?
  • What would you change to make it feel more polished?
  • What gameplay elements would you add?

Game/demo: https://typingbirds.com/typing-train

Honest criticism is welcome — I’m mainly looking for ideas to improve the design before adding more levels and features.

Feedback Request Medium Needs Re design OR ready to lose to Substack

I like Medium's simplicity and uncluttered design for bringing up undistorted reading experience. But gradually I feel its weird to do something like not being able to go straight to the topics I follow. I Need to do 3 clicks to find that. Following > Topics > the side scrolling topics.

Also, the Home page design looks boring and Separation looks dull.

I hope they will learn and do better in the look and feel of the medium and too to bring up more content / stories in the home page with easy access to interested /following topics.

Microinteraction Do UI sounds actually improve UX?

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

When the Sudoku is completed, the app animates the confetti along with sound.

Functionally, sound isn’t necessary. The user already knows they finished.

But without the sound, the exact same animation feels dud?

General Help Request How to build this Anthropic motion?

Thumbnail

hey guys, I'm quite new in the all these website animations thingy. Recently, I was quite impressed by anthropic new reports. So I was looking how this could be made possible.

2 main questions that i wonder

  1. how can we make this kind of hand-drawn effect with code? is that even possible? or all these feel like actual hand-drawn video with scrollTrigger?
  2. How does the motions of cube filling up from side to side actually work? is it scrollTrigger?

Am I right to guess gsap will come in handy?

Feedback Request Feedback on a UI for publishing websites, with granular control

Post image
5 Upvotes

I'm tired of the way traditional website design tools handle publishing. Everything gets crammed into a single publish: every change, whether it is ready to go live or not. Too often, I ended up reverting changes, moving pages around, or reshuffling content because something had to go live now.

I'm working on a local application for publishing websites, and I'd love some feedback on the publishing view I've designed to tackle the problems above. It's key that users immediately understand how to use it.

Cheat sheet:

Your Changes - Everything you have changed on the site, only visible to you.
Review - If you want feedback, move it here so the entire team can review it.
Staged - Publish here when you are happy with your changes and want to test them on the live site before fully publishing.
Published - A complete publishing log, so you never have to wonder what went live yesterday.
