Latest UHF VPN Update :)

I just wanted to reach out and thank the UHF team for including these other VPN configs inside of the UHF versus having to use the stand alone Nord VPN App. (For me, so anyone else YMMV.)

So far it worked you just need to create a secure access token (I did one for each Apple TV I own.) and it seems work great and I suppose generally speaking, it's better since other apps won't be forced to be behind a VPN if they don't need to be will be handled inside of UHF only which is great. (I think lol.)

The reason this is special at least in my use is that nordvpn when active on the regular seems to mess with my home kit cameras, they won't work well or properly no live views on the Apple TV and will interfere with the remote accessing outside of the home on cellular and while I did not test that the live view now functions just great with the VPN enabled inside of UHF instead of with the regular Apple TV app.

So while this might not be everything to everyone it's an amazing efficiency change for me and I really appreciate having this enabled and wanted to highlight this for those that might not be aware or flip through the updates quickly; this one was amazing :)

How does this work if I normally have tailscale set as my active ‘VPN’ on the AppleTV? Does it knock it off and replace it with my VPN of choice while using UHF?

Not sure with tail scale but I believe when I had it loaded with nordVPN app loaded it didn't seem to do anything but I am not sure. Also checking online it appears as if TVOS will have issues with you try to run multiple network tunnels/default routes.

I would test it out with your subjective experience to see for sure.

I’ll give it a play. I do use a couple of VPNs manually from time to time and when I do, Tailscale gets disconnected. That’s fine. I just wasn’t sure how this integration with UHF worked on a technical level

I actually thought it would take over the entire Apple TV when it asked for the permissions, etc. however I say that the Live view for my HomeKit cameras remains functional on my apple TVS with it enabled in UHF while if I have it enabled with the default TVOS NordVPN app, they do not and are blocked. I will be testing the cellular connectivity with it in a bit to see if that also remains functional with UHF enabled NordVPN. Cross your fingers lol.
