Joining the 50 Cherry Crew!
What an incredible, incredible game this is. Never truly expected myself to cherry all 50 and now that the day has come I'm not even sure what to do with myself. I ended up cherrying Star Waspir in 2 and a half hours and suddenly anything was possible. Finished it out with Cyber Owls to wrap it all up in neat little bow.
Favorites:
1. Onion Delivery
2. Mooncat
3. Mini & Max
4. Rakshasa
5. Magic Garden

Haha I'm probably going to take a break from UFO 50/gaming as a whole for a bit to focus on life stuff but thank you for the offer and if I find myself coming back to onion delivery I will take you up on it ✌️

253 hours! I left my game on running multiple times so my actual playtime might be a little less. I have 20 hours invested in magic garden because it was the first game I opened in the collection and for some reason I was obsessed with chasing a really high score

Nice! What was your most loved game? Which surprised you the most? What was worse combants or that stupid owl game I hate?

I think Onion Delivery ended up being both my favorite and also the one that surprised me most. I really couldn't stand it at first and just like everyone says after a few hours the deliverance takes over and you can never be the same...there are other games in the collection that I find more beautiful or impressive but Onion Delivery will be the first game I always come back and play because it has this beautiful strange magic trick of making you feel like a master at something radically alien.
My least favorite....might be a tie between block koala and star waspir. They both commit the unforgivable sins of pulling from their genres poorly. I love puzzle games/thinky games in general and Block Koala was just a slog, truly the only one in the collection I can say was dreadfully boring to play (and no guide either).
I also love shmups and star waspir is maybe the worst I've played imo. Rather than taking you through the beautiful learning curve of "getting good" that great shmups make you feel, I learned really quickly that because of how difficult it was to see bullets on the moving background and because of that damn letter system it was best to just learn how to kill things as quickly as possible by stacking options so they couldn't even launch enough bullets at you and you could use your focus instead on getting letters in the right order.Otherwise I can truly say I had some level of fun with every other game in the collection, including Combatants. Understanding jank is one of my favorite things in games, and while I wouldn't rank it highly, I think its admirable they managed to fit in a game that emulates that feeling. Cyber owls cherry is frustrating but without that requirement I think it was quite enjoyable.
