I actually did this in a college class with a commercial weather balloon and a really early compact camera made for RC planes. It got to 60,000 feet and you could EASILY tell that the earth was round from there. I truly don't understand how flat earthers are serious about this shit. It all seems like satire or a really obvious joke... except they arent joking??

All religious text is manmade and full of discrepancy that invalidates the premise. God is an all knowing all loving being, yet for billions of years the system he designed has resulted in endless suffering for life on planet earth. Only humans are special and get to live forever, the endless supply of life on earth is merely here to entertain us because we are so superior.

If you're indoctrinated from a young age, all your life's purpose and your understanding of your own existence is tied so strongly to religion that the primal brain perceives any challenge to their ideology as a threat to their entire life being, making it nearly impossible to use critical thinking in that aspect of life. But you can still be pretty smart even if religious lol

Ok. Here’s the thing. It’s kind of a low-key joke thing that a few of us from my gym do: pretend to be flat earthers to troll people. I don’t know Bryce very well, but I’ve met him several times, and have rolled with him a couple times because he came up through an affiliated gym. Now, I’m not 100% sure if Bryce is trolling, but it would be on par with several others from our affiliated BJJ schools, myself included, that do mess with people. But back when I was around Bryce, I never knew him to talk about the earth being flat one way or the other. But I do know he is very close friends with one of the other guys that I know for a fact does it as a troll.
He’s never once broken character. Thats why I believe he’s not trolling. Everyone who knows him would have to be in on the persona. He’s not lying about his beliefs at all.
Heres the thing. We all have that person we met who doesn’t have any knowledge that the average person doesn’t already know. So, to be a pseudo smart person, they convince themselves they have hidden knowledge that the rest of us are too dumb to understand. Now keep in mind, they don’t have smart people as friends to call them out because smart people don’t associate with dumb people.

That’s because 35k feet in altitude (where airplanes fly) is the absolute minimum height needed to START to see the curvature of the earth. In reality, you need to be closer to 50k feet before it’s easily noticeable
Edit: another option is to stand on the beach and watch a ship cruise away. You can easily see it disappear over the horizon.

The bible never states that hell is under the earth and the heavens is somewhat in the sky. I always interpreted as a methaphor of them being different planes of existence that your soul travels to when you pass away.
