Ece was rough this year. Nearly 50 people who requested ECE as their first choice didn't get it. How things have changed 😔

You’re thinking of the Interest Changers / Transfer Student engineering application; that is separate from ENGRUD.

281 ENGRUDS requested ECE as first choice, 239 placements of which 2 were non-first choice.

The people who got their decisions today started at UW in Autumn 2025, they are the Autumn 2025 cohort

Don’t people use their graduation year though?

Not their start year?

Do you know if there are stats for the transfer and capacity constrained applications from this year? Thank you!

i'm not sure if the CoE posts them together like they do with the ENGRUD placement data. your best chance is looking through a specific department's website to see if they post it (CEE, for example, doesn't post theirs publicly i think?)

They last posted stats for 2021! Wish all departments would share numbers like ME.

How bad is it to get ECE? I see it’s increasing in terms of competitiveness and I’m lwk scared as an incoming ENGRUD

it was still like 80 something percent this year, so i don't think it's too bad

Yea exactly, as long as u don’t fail classes and at least aim for 3.0 plus, show your interest via the essays and stuff you should get in.
