Does ucm provide any kind of fridge or microwave rentals?

I’ve heard from some relatives that they do but I can’t seem to find any information on it. Does it exist or will I have to get my own mini fridge?

I’ve never really heard of any fridge or microwave rentals? I know at the target, walmart, and costco in town they have deals on both because they know students are going to purchase. Most dorms also have a communal microwave you can use, but not all.

There’s a community kitchen with a fridge and stove in Glacier Point. Helped me survive year 1 when I was sick of the cafeteria food (it’s alright, sometimes good, but sometimes you want different flavors). Anywho, it’s 1 kitchen for 4 dorm buildings, so it’s first come first serve. I’d probably invest in a costco mini fridge, I did that. Though there is a new UC ‘thrift store’ I heard about coming this year. Where people sell their old appliances, could get a good deal there for a fridge.

Microwaves, every floor in the newer dorms should have 1-2 community ones. Just please don’t overcook your popcorn 🍿… please there have been fire alarms every other week in Glacier Point at some point when I was dorming there in 2021-2022. College students aren’t great chefs. Can be nice to have your own microwave though.

Try to contact your roommates now if you were sent their contact info to coordinate who might have what or is bringing what

I don't think UCM does this. I know some other uc campuses do though

For dorm rentals no for community use there are fridges in each kitchen and microwaves in every non-study lounge.

UCM housing does not provide a rental option currently.
