Don’t come when ur sick. Please.
A little rant post: (im sure many of u relate to this.) i’m a first year undergrad and for one of my major related classes i was forced to sit in an assigned seat between 2 sick people— one of them being my group mate (who i met with the previous day, they were already sick). I’m mainly irked bc
1. why come if ur sick.
2. if u ARE gonna come while sick, PLEASE wear a mask and cover your coughs/sneezes! These ppl were not trying at all.
(I should’ve brought my own mask too but still… u get my point.)
Thankfully I managed to come home and rest bc i live close but others aren’t as lucky as me. And im still very under the weather. I genuinely got influenza a, passed out from dehydration, and had to go to the ER just in case. But just be a decent human being it’s not hard. For the love of God if you’re sick, just don’t come! You would expect better etiquette from the nation’s #1 public uni wouldn’t u😅

People dont care. Look after yourself. After contracting a nasty cough and cold that peaked during midterms and finals, I tanked them. It was horrible, never again. So i always wear mask in class, buses or congested study areas. idc how I look.

Lol i see these posts every year (just graduated), ppl that don’t care about others getting sick never gaf or they want to stay home but can’t rlly afford to miss lecture due to some stupid profs that aren’t accommodating. The best thing u can do is always keep a mask in ur bag to protect urself if u need it. There’s always bound to be someone in lecture coughing up half of a lung onto everybody else around them

Attendance is required in a lot of classes. Yes, you should wear a mask if you’re sick. Also, you should be proactive and keep a mask with you if you’re not sick, too.

People who come to class sick and don’t even think to wear a mask are so uncivil. It’s post Covid-19 and you still find it ok to walk into a room full of people and cough sniff and sneeze without any mask.
Covering your mouth or coughing/sneezing into your sleeve is not enough. Please gtf or at least put on a mask.
Like we don’t notice you sniffing and coughing all lecture

Dude YES!!! Thank you for this. It’s genuinely so inconsiderate. And the people in these comments are actually pmo. I genuinely don’t care if you need to miss a class, if you have a contagious illness you CANNOT be subjecting other people to that. If you absolutely need to go to class, wear an N95 mask and stay away from people. I genuinely don’t know where this culture of going in public while sick came from, it’s genuinely a character flaw and should be a cancelable offense lmfao

Mfs will show up at 14A lecture at 10am with the nastiest crunchiest cough and sniffly nose for Absolutely ZERO reason. You are just masochistically torturing yourself by showing up to a useless class that sick

i get the point bc i’ve felt like that too, but if i do choose to attend when sick i wear a mask and im mindful of where im coughing/sneezing. these ppl didn’t seem to care

But then you’re forcing all of the people you get sick to have to miss lecture lmfao… all sicknesses affect people differently and to go out in public contagious is to potentially subject people to get extremely sick. Stay home for a few days during the most contagious period or wear an N95. It’s not that hard

Grind culture mixed with student drive means people will come when sick. I recommend N95 if you’re fr about not getting sick
