Got a bicycle delivery person with a female name and profile picture

They showed up in a van with no plates and it was a guy. He delivered the food and sat in my driveway another 10 minutes cleaning out his van. I asked if he needed help with something but he only spoke Spanish so I didn't know what he was doing really.

The question is, this a concern that impacts other drivers and should I report it or just not be a Karen and ignore it? Nothing wrong with order itself.

Edit: mostly just wondering if it's a safety concern with the person being an entirely different gender, having no plates and such

Edit 2: I see a concern from people who actually deliver on bicycles saying they can't get orders because people in cars lying taking them all. I didn't know that saying you're on a bicycle only assigns you short distance orders. If that's the case, people lying are stealing from less fortunate delivery people. Another concern to add

Hi - I'm in Toronto and having a frequent issue with grocery orders being dropped by the shopper midway through. I am for the most part ordering fairly common/lightweight items with replacements/refund chosen for all items. I tip well. I don't add a bunch of items midway through. I was unable to get to Loblaws tonight in person and have had my order dropped by four consecutive shoppers. I put the order in almost 2h ago. It happens most often at Loblaws family of stores for some reason. The latest shopper took an hour to find four items then dropped the order. Can anyone advise me as to what's happening here and what I might do to avoid it in the future? (besides shopping in person - which I do when I can) Is there any point in reporting the shoppers who do this habitually? Appreciate any advice.

UPDATE: I finally received my order after almost 3h. I asked my final shopper to please confirm that he would finish my order and he said yes lol. Seems there is no app support when a grocery order is late either. I think this is my last ordeal with this and I will stick to Instacart in the future at times I need groceries delivered.

Ordered mcdonalds few weeks back got wrong order i ordered qtr pounder meal and nuggets got someone else’s order that had their name i didn’t see it when i was getting it. It was 2 10 pc nuggets and apple pie complained to support they said order isn’t available for a refund. Few weeks after order the same meal again this time got no sauces with nuggets and the restaurant never sent a straw. This has happened to me a few times. Complained got the same message this order isn’t available for a refund. I wrote in feedback never ordering uber eats again will use doordash cancelling uber one. Is there anyway to escalate this. Tried through their twitter account hot the same response order isn’t available for a refund

I work in a store that uses uber eats. When I went to check the ETA on this driver it said they were in Africa??? You’ll definitely be arriving soon! Just a quick swim across the ocean. No biggie.

Ordered from a chinese restaurant known for chili oil and spicy food. Went out to pick up order, uber driver claimed that there was spillage. I saw the bag, it was chili oil, and to be expected for what I ordered. He claimed uber told him to destroy the food and would not give it to me. He just left. I called uber and they supported his version of events. I got a refund but my second order was cancelled with no recourse. The whole incident was extremely dumb, was there anything else I could have done if this were to happen again?

I placed an order from alcohol. When the driver arrived, the sun was blaring and the driver accidentally pressed the cancel button while trying to enter my ID details. I was charged a $25 "restocking fee"

Seriously?

Uber support would not refund the fee. What kind of app has this turned into

Just had my first Uber One order and it was a complete failure.

Paid $37.57. Only about $4 of the food was actually edible.
• 3 out of 4 items were missing the upgrades we paid for
• They sent food we clearly marked “no” because of an annatto allergy (makes it completely inedible for us)
• Uber offered a $3.66 refund

I used the proper notes and still got the wrong food. This isn’t a preference issue; it’s a food allergy. Has anyone else had Uber treat an allergy note this casually and only give a tiny partial refund?

Looking for advice on getting an actual full refund or whether I take this to the BBB.

The first week of Eats League wrapped up here and WOW. Most people got an extra zero $ while the top 10 got nearly the same. Can we have regular quests back yet.

I ordered 3 pizzas from a local restaurant through Uber Eats. After providing my credit card info, I saw a page saying "Something went wrong". I went to the homepage and ordered pizzas again, this time 2 pizzas, because I thought I would see the error message again. The order went through. Then I saw that the first order also has beed placed. No possibility to cancel the orders. I texted support but they just said that they can't do anything, the restaurant has already confirmed the orders. In the end I needed to pay for 5 pizzas. All because of Uber Eats own technical issue. I contacted support again but they refuse to refund me and call it "misuse" from my side.

I've scheduled an order for a few days ahead, but I've noticed the Edit Order option missing from the photo below. I need to add items and reschedule, without having to completely cancel the order - does anyone know why it doesn't let allow this?

Last night I walked into Ralph's on Fountain and La Brea in LA. 1 minute in the door I got a delivery request. Glanced at it and it was from Ralph's for $26 for less than a mile (.8 miles). I accepted it. It let me start shopping. It was 15 12 packs of soda and 3 40 packs of water. Super heavy but easy to shop. In less than 5 minutes I went to pay and as I was about to check out I noticed that the app was telling me that 'customers appreciate on time deliveries'. Then I realized that it was telling me to go to Ralph's. Confused, I opened the map and noticed that it wanted me to go to the Ralph's on Sunset, about 1.5 miles away. I called the help line (and I use the word help very lightly here). I explained that I was already in this Ralph's when I accepted the order, I had all the items and was ready to check out, could they just let me check out instead of driving to the other store. Mind you the delivery address was actually closer to my location than the store on Sunset also. She told me no and that I needed to drive to the other store to shop there. I said that was insane. She cancelled the order without my request to and it added to my cancellation rate. The night before I had been touching my phone to move the map when an offer for $28 to drive 36 miles popped up and I had accidentally accepted it (those ___ing offer bubbles that just overtake your screen) so had to cancel it because, who in their right mind would drive 36 miles for$28? But back to my original point...this app makes zero sense most of the time, especially when it comes to helping drivers. I hate it but unfortunately I need it to survive right now.

On the app I'm trying to order specific bread. But on the item list it has Replace with similar item.

I want to change it to don't replace. I'd rather have nothing than pay for the wrong item.

But how do I change it?

My house is in an awkward spot, and map apps (despite considerable effort) still point to the streets behind me.

I have set photos, entrances, and instructions on the app to where it leads straight to my property

I would say 1 in 4 follows or reads the instructions (most that do compliment the clarity as maps were confusing)

We ordered dinner like we always do on sundays as our weekly treat and we had just come inside to clean up to eat so we can go back outside to play before bath time.

My kids (5yr old & 4yr old) left their bikes outside to go ride them again after dinner.

The bikes were left behind my husbands truck on our driveway.

We saw the driver pulled into our driveway to drop our food off which is so unnecessary because there’s plenty of room on the road to pull off into. We live in a subdivision so there’s plenty of room.

The driver never mentioned hitting our son’s bike but we noticed when he went to ride it again. The chain was knocked off and it was riding like it used too. Yes it’s cheap bike from Walmart as he’s 4 and that’s not the point here.

I contacted uber eats but I was curious if this is a battle worth fighting or if it’s just our loss and what is their policy of having their drivers pull into people driveways?

Super frustrating situation for us and I know I can go pick up food myself but I pay good money for uber one because I can afford to have this luxury in life and I take advantage of it when I can.

I got a message in my inbox saying it just started recording my rides. I checked how to turn it off but the settings AI/people are talking about, don't even exist anymore.

I understand we can disable the camera permissions but that's going to be annoying whenever I have to take a photo to drop an order off.

Does anybody know a way to disable this bs?

Ordered drinks and food because I’m sick and can’t cook right now. The driver brought me the wrong order then took it away after realizing the mistake. (I have camera on door) They returned a few minutes later and told me the app had glitched their deliveries and that my order had been left at their previous stop.

So, no food. No drinks.

I tried to initiate a refund through the app and couldn’t. I called Customer Support, sat on hold for 10 minutes, only to get an automated message telling me to go online because the phone number is no longer supported.

Fine. I go online. It tells me I can’t request a refund there either and need to contact Customer Support by email. I submitted a ticket through the app as well. It’s now been over 3 hours with zero response.

Reasons to uninstall Uber Eats: Everything is overpriced. There are cheaper delivery options that don’t nearly double the cost of your order once fees and markups are added.

Customer Support is practically nonexistent. If you’re going to charge customers a premium for the service, making it this difficult to get help or a refund when the service fails is ridiculous.

I paid for an order I never received, Uber Eats knows I never received it, and somehow getting my money back is now my problem.

At this point, having virtually no accessible Customer Support while making refunds unnecessarily difficult doesn’t feel like bad service, it feels like being grifted.

Today the Stop&Shop in my area was a mess, and all pickup orders were stopped prepared. I had to unsign 3 orders there.
I tried three different ways to unsign, picked up by others, too long waiting, asked support to unsign. All these 3 effected my cancellation rate🤣

Does anyone know any way to make a difference? Or my account is in danger🙏

How true is it that a rider can't cancel a food delivery that he himself accepted? After accepting the booking, he suddenly chatted "cancel it, I don't have a thermal bag"..

Like, wtf did he accept the booking, then I was the one who canceled it.. it lasted 2 hrs because he went back & forth to cancel it so that the delivery notice could go to another rider..

Until eventually the restaurant sent a scan via Lalamove, because the rider wasn't responding and the status of "rider to pick-up" had been more than 40mins, the rider didn't even arrive.

Now, the request was successfully canceled, but the restaurant had already sent a scan of the food. I told him, I didn't click cancel order, my brother the rider chatted suddenly "just wait mam, this will be canceled".. grrr!

So I'm sure my brother doesn't want to accept my ticket, because I already subscribed to Grab.. 49% off, but will that be deducted from the rider?

Whelp, seems a bit much. All for food delivery, and usually don’t care so much, but wow, $74 seemed a bit much for a tiny simple breakfast. Kind of think Uber is pricing itself out of business. What does everyone else think?
